NFL  > General NFL  > Seattle FB Michael Robinson: Awesome Example of Perseverance
January 28, 2014, 11:24 AM
Michael Robinson -- former Penn State quarterback who bulked up and moved to running back so he could see the field -- is taking in everything he possibly can while he and the NFC Champions explore New York, getting ready for the biggest game of his eight-year career.

Considering he almost never touched the field again as a professional back in August, don't fault Robinson if tears flow from his eyes if the Seahawks win.

After suffering a bad reaction to anti-inflammatory medicine, in which his liver and kidneys began to fail, Robinson was cut from Seattle only a few weeks before week one. He made a full recovery and got back in-shape and was asked to rejoin the team when his replacement, Derrick Cole, suffered a season-ending injury.

He wrestled with the idea -- still hurt from his dismissal -- but he decided he wanted to play with the teammates he left behind. To Robinson, playing football is about the man lined up next to you.
