MLB  > New York Yankees  > Does Tanaka deserve a contract worth 155 Million?

Tanaka was a great pitcher for the Japanese league and even went 24-0 last season but how will this guy perform in the big leagues? I know, he was extensively scouted while he was still in Japan and we will not be able to know how he performs until he starts pitching for the Yankees. Does Tanaka warrant a contract worth 155 Million? Who knows, only time will tell.

Does the extensive scouting by the Yankees warrant them to open their wallets that much to someone that has yet to pitch in the big leagues? The Dodgers and Red Sox have fat wallet's but they didn't try to out bid the Yankees. Maybe they didn't want to risk that much on an unproven MLB pitcher.

I'm excited to see how he pitches. I'm hoping he pitches the way he did in the Japanese league. Cross your fingers Yankee fans!

Yu Darvish in Texas to Fukijama in Chicago. Yankees will see if they get what they paid for. But this is a quote from there gm tanaka could be third in rotation someday would you pay 155 million on a what if to a third in the rotation. He should have said no 1 in the rotation at that much money. They don't trust him if they said that.

I guess him being no. 3 in the rotation puts a lot of pressure on the two other pitchers ahead of him. If Tanaka out performs the other two, it would be to their advantage to bring their best every game.

I can see the strategy in this but the Dodgers didn't do it probably for this reason. It could very well backfire on them too. Let's see it all play out.
