NFL  > Arizona Cardinals  > If your a Cards fan and they let Warner walk how would you feel?

This whole situation has me puzzled. The Cards who have had a terrible franchise in terms of winning over there history get to the Super Bowl mainly on the arm of Warner. Now they dont want to pay him when they still have a good enough team in the NFC to get back there. If Warner leaves and the Cards tank under Leinart id be pretty upset.

How would you guys feel if your team got so close to a Lombardi Trophy then got rid of maybe the biggest reason why you got there? I do think Fitz and Boldin had alot to do with it and others but without Warner leading the offense there screwed imo. Warner might be asking for alot (14-15 mil a year) and the Cards only want to give him 10. At the same time I dont see how the Cards cant pay him. Or at least offer 12.5 mil and see what he says.

So what do you guys think?

Warner made it quiet clear he wants to be a Cardinal. However what confuses me he said he wants Boldin back and no big changes on Offense but he is asking for more money so the team can do less with free agency and restructuring current player contracts like Boldin, Wilson and Dockett. I love what Warner did for Arizona but if he leaves and Leinart takes over I still think The Cardinals can win behind him.

I still think he will be a Cardinal. The Cards also just upped there contract offer to 2 yrs 23 mil (instead of 20). I think Warner looking for more money on top of 10 mil a year makes him look like a greedy prick. At the same time if the Cards let him walk somehow it would be the dumbest move ive ever seen. The Cards even letting him hit FA is stupid. There lucky as hell TB or Minny didnt come calling at 1201. If I was the Vikes I wouldnt of traded for Rosenfels and idda signed Warner.

I did think Leinart would be a good QB coming out of the draft so it wouldnt shock me if and when he gets another shot he plays better. At the same time Leinart has proved nothing. Letting a SB QB walk for a franchise like the Cardinals is insane if it were to happen.

Terrible! The only reason the Cards made it to the "big game" is because of Warner. Yes, he had great receivers there for him and his o-line was keeping him from being hit too often, so those are great things, too. HOWEVER, if it had been Leinart on the front line instead, we would not have been at the SB. We may or may not have even made it out of the first game of the playoffs.

Warner (realistically) only has a couple of playing years left (due to his age), so the front office should show him some love...give him a solid 2-year contract close to the $ amt he's asking for....otherwise, imo, the front office will be "throwing the baby out with the bathwater".

For years, I have shown up at the Cards games, supported a losing team YEAR after YEAR...don't let us down now!
