Real Madrid Lovers/Barca Haters  > Group Message Board  > What's it going to take to win the Second Leg?
March 5, 2009, 12:39 AM
In what might have been a stunner, Liverpool shocked Real Madrid in Spain with a late header from Yossi Benayoun. Liverpool, playing without its captain for most of the game, beat the odds as they got the late goal. With Gerrard out, Liverpool lost their biggest play maker. With this loss, it came to no shock that coach Rafael Benitez played a defensive game to try to keep Real Madrid from getting that all important goal for the aggregate scoring. Real dominated possession in the game, but still could not find the back of the net, despite the sensational play from Arjen Robben. Fernando Torres??? return to Spain fell well below expectations as the Spanish international play was very disappointing. Torres, one of the EPL???s biggest goal scoring threats, never seemed to get in the flow in the game, as Italian defender Fabio Cannavaro had his number throughout the match. Despite the rocky relationship between Benitez and ownership, Benitez has coached Liverpool to impressive away victories in the Champions league to Juventus, Barcelona, Arsenal, Inter Milan and Chelsea in recent seasons. What is it going to take for Real to go up by two goals against Liverpool in England? I know during league play they have been scoring with no problems, but without Huntelarr how are we going to pull it off?
