With the emergence of Pierre Thomas at the end of last year I don't see why they need to add another back.
Though if they did taking him at 14 is a bit of a reach. They would probably be able to drop down a few spots and take him.
Actually, I like Beanie Well as Duece replacement. Look at his highlights tell me he doesn't remind us of Duece.
Pierre Thomas is the guy , i met him and he is one smart hardworking man . I think if we go RB it will be a big RB like Glen Coffee , Alabama. we might need to trade down and get a 3rd round pick. we should get a player like CB Davis that can convert into a FS. one great FS away from me being satisfied with there D. im only 16 i can be wrong so i want to hear some opinions please!
I love ya'll ideas , but what if the saints get CB Davis to play FS and we dont need Moreno, we got Reggie and Pierre , I met Pierre and belive me he is going to do all it takes to win and if we do get a RB to share carries behind Pierre , what about tradeing for a 3rd round pick to get a very huge back : Glen Coffee from Alabama. hay what ya'll think saints fans?
I think Moreno will be a pretty good back but we still gotta go defense...and it should be a DB. The secondary is our weak link every year and when's the last time we drafted one in the first round? I can't think of one. Plus we just lost Bullocks to the Bears.
I'll put it this way...We need 1st round talent on our defense, the offense puts up 30 a game, we need to stop teams. We always give up tons of yardage thru the air. But if we do go RB, I hope it is Moreno. Man he's a stud.

I dont want no unproven luck-eyes he couldnt even go against fresno state him toe hurt, he's garbage besides we have a nice back field as it stands with healthy Bush Thomas Steker and bell and unproven hamilton what else do u want
And there we go! Sharper is on board at safety, CB should be fairly solid. I really think Moreno could come in to play before too long.
I like Beanie better as well. Everyone thought Reggie Bush was going to be the best thing ever so as far as players being "unproven", everyone is unproven before the pro level until they succeed there.
I think we should trade our pick back and try to get the best player we can, along with another 1st day pick. I would hope to get Alex Mack, Brian Cushing, or if a CB like Davis or Jenkins falls back that far, then maybe even them.
Perhaps?
With Sharper onboard, I see us taking the best player available left on the board. Position will not matter. We added Spicer to the D line, we also have Pressley coming back from his IR injury, if Dan Morgan pans out, and they will have a good idea once OTA kick off were he is at physicaly. That leaves the door open in the draft. Porter was coming into his own before he went down, Greer, and Gay, are solid in the right system which DC Williams has.
We do not need a major overhaul or need the defese to be spectacular, we just need them to not let the other guys score so fast.
Our offense will win the games.
I agree with the Miami man. our dbs are now solid and starter quality. As I remember Porter has already snagged a few INTS before the football gods took him away for the year. McKenzie hurts for reasons of pride and loyalty but greer and gay should do fine, and even david started to turn around torward the end when big bobby mcray was puttin the pressure. btw does ne1 remember the top rated unit the jags had a few years back? williams. mccray and spicer... hmmm pressure is commin baby and now that we got sharper back there roaming the secondary reading plays jumping routes.. i see our turnmover ratio being a strength this year..
As far as running back goes, if the saints draft a big brusier and pay him 1st round money after letting go of deuce for less money than a 1st rounder would command... ewww... boy i cant tell you just how pissed off people would be.
Bring In another outside backer to give morgan and simoneax a reason to prove they are worth our time! im campaigning for cushing damnit!
I like Cushing too. If we do go position specific it needs to be linebacker.
Why would you want Wells? He gets injured too much. He wont help the running game when him and Reggei are both on the bench w/ injuries.

i think our secondary situation is on the right track now, we brought in some veterans that know the game, and we have a young group of corners that have some skill, i think tracy porter is gonna have a stand out year, and we still could use a guy like vontae davis.. he is big and skilled and a hard hitter and can play corner or safety...now our RB situation, we have two dependable guys in the backfield right now, but it wouldnt hurt to get another talented ball carrier back there, due to injuries. hopefully we will be able to trade down and get a guy like coffee, or javon ringer from michigan state, he should be gone by the second though. but if he is still there in the 3rd round. it would be a good idea to trade our fourth and a future 2010 pick to get em...
also with our 7th round pick we should go after colt david from LSU, at least we would have a dependable kicker, plus he is from in state, im sure he would love that
though i wish that bush had p.thomas vision, but i dont think he is big enough to take the pounding(as the year went on in 2008 he got more injured). I did like the highlights of Moreno.
Whats more valuable to the saints from the draft a runner or a defensive back? and
What had the most negative impact last year on the saints between those two positions?
i wouldnt mind having another hb but i would rather have cushing it wouldn hurt to have someone back up or start over scott shanle
it's been too long since we are able to take the best available player. An OLB would be great in round one but I do think either Coffee or Ringer will still be there later, maybe in the fourth even. If not RBs are pretty deep and a viable one will be.
