Ok well first off I am a huge Carolina fan and Congrats on the ACC tournament Championship. The big east has 16 teams not 18. I do think that if Carolina plays their best basketball (UNLIKE WE DID IN ATLANTA W/O TY LAWSON) I do think we can beat anyone AT OUR BEST. Duke could probably beat Pitt with a little bit of luck. Thabett for UCONN isn't all that great I don't think. He gets into foul trouble way to easily and he can hurt UCONN at times. I also think that the ACC is no doubt better than the Big East. I think that VT should have also gotten into the tournament and MAYBE Miami. VT and Miami both have great teams and if they are firing on all cylinders then they can be very very dificult to beat.

I think your argument is poorly structured. They have standardizing measures that exist (RPI, SOS) and they've been making brackets for longer than you've been alive, so I don't think your argument really holds a candle here.
P.S. I loved rushing the court in Ann Arbor when Duke fell flat. Go Blue.

Excellent post.. Couldnt agree more. Respect K but HATE HIM.

Yeah.. that luck being that DBlair falls out the back of the bus pulling out of Pitty...
Seriously, Big East is deeper as a conference. Take NC and Duke vs Conn & Pitt/Cuse...it would be a toss-up but overall the Big East is a little better

I'll give you pitt, and when they're good uconn, syracuse can get hot and we've all seen how beatable louisville is, 7 up with teams in the tourney and I thing VT should have been considered. acc has 12 teams and big east has 18. more than half the acc made it and for you not so number bright people less than half from the big LEAST. I'll put our worst team (GT) against the big east's 8 last teams. than I'll put our 7th-11th place teams up against the big east's 5th and up, our 4th-6th against their 3rd and up Wake can be flaky but at their best they are better than 16 of their 18 teams, that leaves uconn and pitt, duke and carolina. at their best unc (I hate to say it) is better than anyone. Duke is not better than pitt but I do think they would spank uconn so the only match up I see going against the acc is pitt over duke, that doesn't mean duke can't beat them. This may be a little cocky, but thats just my opinion.
Where were you when I got my butt kicked in a TD on this very subject? lol
I've had to endure this all season that the Big East is the toughest conference. As recently as this weekend I had to listen to ESPN reporters talk about how tough the Big East is and now they come away with Seven teams in the Dance, but so did ACC and Big Ten. Big Ten?Seven? BS.....

3 #1's is a great acomplishment. I do not deny that. But no other conference but the SEC had 9 teams that did not make the tourney. #4 in RPI, #5 in % of teams in the bracket? UCONN ranked below Duke #1, Oklahoma #5, Michagan State #6, and Memphis #7 in RPI. Meanwhile Depaul #206, Rutgers #195, South Florida #190, St Johns #140. No other big 6 conference lets you scedule 5-8 wins in conference like that. Great year for some, great accomplishment for the BE! But deeper than the ACC? Not this year.

rushing the court is old and gay. a team like michigan has had alot of success and their fans should not rush the court after a win. duke was ranked 7th I think, real big win! where were they in the big ten tourney by the way?

yeah they are deeper because they have FOUR MORE TEAMS THAN THE ACC. Give the ACC FOUR MORE TEAMS and lets see what happens I mean if you have more teams DUH your going to be deeper. That's like taking a Junior College with 8-9 basketball players and like taking UNC or UCONN or Pitt and saying that they are deeper than that Junior College because they have MORE PLAYERS. It's just like saying the Big East is deeper than the ACC because they have MORE TEAMS.

letsgoduke..the big east has 16 teams, not 18, and is better than the acc..in case youve been asleep for the past few days, they have 3 one seeds, the most ever. and yes, the conference has some crap teams (south florida, depaul, st johns), but its not like the acc doesnt, and teams like georgetown and notre dame would be in the ncaa tournament if they played in any other conference. ask anybody involved with college basketball and they will tell you, this years big east is either the best or one of the best conferences ever.

megametfan13 the ACC used to routinely get 1/2 of its conference into the sweet 16. The BE did not even get half its conference in tournament. The BE has had 3 teams in the final 4 before. Lets wait and see. Both the BE and the Big 10 has had 2 teams in the finals. once again lets wait and see. And ?? of the BE has a lower RPI than the last place ACC team. The ACC would have had 3 #1 seeds before if the used the criteria they used this year. But #4 RPI Wake was moved to the top #2 seed unlike #8 RPI UCONN this year. The BE had a great year, 3 great teams, but top to bottom #4 RPI and was the 5th best conference for getting teams into the tourney. Know your history before you start ranking this years BE with the best of alltime.
Sorry 1/4 of the BE . Also if Georgetown and Notre Dame would have been in if they played in any other conference, how come the ACC, Pac 10, Big 10, and Big 12 got 1/2 or more of their league in. If they belonged, they would have been there.

if your going to base everything on numbers like the rpi your turning this into the bcs of college football. computers cant tell who the best teams are. i wish they would throw out all the rpi crap. not saying its not a good tie breaker, but nothing more than that

Of cource I am also basing it on number of teams in the tourney, and how they advance. The truth is that the first 12 teams in the BE and the first 12 teams in the ACC would make for a great debate all by themselves. It is just that you also have to include the bottom four of the BE. Thats what kills them. If the BE gets 6 teams in the sweet 16, 3-4 inthe final 4, and both teams in the championship, then you can say probably best ever.
it is only the NIT. But so far BE 1-3 ACC 2-0, Plus Miami waxed Providence. Can't wait for the real tourney. The BE will do much better there.

THEY HAVE MORE TEAMS!!! GIVE THE ACC FOUR MORE TEAMS AND I AM SURE THAT WE WOULD HAVE A CHANCE OF GETTING TWO MORE TEAMS IN THE TOURNAMENT TOO!!

Here is more fuel for the fire....NIT....Upper half Big East team Providence just lost to lower half ACC team Miami.....GU, Big E also lost in NIT......This does not help the Big East claim!

acc is 4-3 in the real tournament..big east is 6-1 with our only loss coming from our worst tournament team
