If you could ask the collective field of candidates ONE question to make up your mind, what would that question be?

Mine:
What do you think of America's standing in the world, and what will you do to improve it? How?
January 7, 2008  07:49 AM ET

You know one of the things that I'm worried about is the economy. Oil is over $100 a barell now, so what would each of the candidates do about the current recession?

CavaBearDians: The press has told us that people hate us. #1 it isn't true. #2 if it were, who cares?

January 7, 2008  01:00 PM ET

I would ask: How long will it take you to secure our borders and how will you do it?

January 7, 2008  01:35 PM ET

the United States is currently ranked 37th in the world in terms of health care by the WHO(http://www.photius.com/rankings/healthranks.html). a country with the resources the United States has should not be ranked only 2 spots ahead Cuba (excellent health care, considering the resources). what would you do to improve the US Healthcare system?

January 7, 2008  05:30 PM ET

My question asks about our reputation as well as our economic position as well as our quality of life, all in relation to the rest of the world.

January 7, 2008  11:54 PM ET

How would you balance the need for economic growth while maintaining and improving the health of our environment?

January 8, 2008  04:58 PM ET

How will you change America for the better?

January 8, 2008  07:51 PM ET

Hillary Clinton, is it true that you are a lesbian?!

Is that why you didn't stop your husband from screwing Lewinsky?

Ahem: my real question... what do y'all propose for Social Security? Do you plan on MY generation of America to suffer because of the broken system?

January 8, 2008  07:56 PM ET

Maniac, there's an easy answer for that:

actually divert some tax dollars to SS. 60 cents of every tax dollar goes to the military and we spend more than EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD COMBINED ON DEFENSE. i think if we took even five cents off of that and put it to other things, like Social Security, other programs wouldn't have to take a hit.

What is the one GEOGRAPHICAL reason why the situation in Iraq has gone south?

(Extra credit for whoever can actually answer that, and I'll post it on the Locker Talk as well...)

January 8, 2008  09:12 PM ET

SS, it's because the country is, as far as i know, very divded geographically by ethnic group. the moronic British just drew a random border for the country as a whole and stupidly placed three very distinct ethnic groups that didn't necessarily get along into one country, much like what was done in Africa. they were forced to co-exist without really liking it and that obviously leads to incredible strain and lack of cooperation.

an "easy" way out of sorts in Iraq is to give each ethnic group in the country its own country but that leaves minorities in Kurdish, Suni, and Shiite (sp?) countries VERY open to genocide.

January 8, 2008  09:25 PM ET

What will you do about the 2 trillion dollar national debt, and will you balance the budget?

January 16, 2008  12:00 AM ET

To Hilary:

How do you propose to fund plans that you've promised to put into action that appear to require an incredible amount of money?

Will you focus on healthcare more thasn the war?
