NFL  > General NFL  > Would a 17 or 18 game season really improve the league, or just another way to make some money?

They have been talking about this for a while and it seems to me like this is just another way for the NFL to keep the money train rolling. I could see eliminating two pre-season games and making the others count for the regular season; however, if they add a game or two on top of the current schedule, then the super bowl would be in February. For a league that prides itself on a short season, together with being the most lucrative professional sports league, why try to add more games?
