NFL  > General NFL  > The Eagles have options, lots of them!

At the owners meeting, Tom Heckert(general manager) was asked about the flexibility they have with 12 picks, 2 being 1st rounders. His reply was they feel like they can do just about anything they want. WOW.
Besides all the trade rumors(Jason Peters, Boldin, Edwards)...we wont know till draft day, they could pull any one of those off.
See, the Eagles are in a great situation...not only is it sweet to have 12 picks(21,28 in the 1st) but they have $40 mill under the cap as well. They could trade for anyone, and pay anyone. Heckert also commented on other teams managers eager to trade down because with a high draft pick comes a big price tag. Many teams simply dont have the money under the cap to sign these players...for them trading down and getting more picks later on(especially if they have lots of holes to fill) makes more sense. Heckert even planted the seed of moving up into the top 5 or 10, and said if they chose 1 would not be impossible. I know they had OT Monroe in for a visit, and he is the 2nd best tackle in this draft. Could they make a play for OT Jason Smith? He is the total package and could bookend this line with Stacy Andrews for the next decade.
What are these sneaky birds up to?
