Good read about why all free agents seem to want to come to New England.

Because this is their last chance to have s Super Bowl ring before they're retired.

They can cheat there an no ones cares

April 6, 2009  03:18 PM ET

Because they will make no money unless their name is Tom Brady!!!!

I can't name one good FA NE has signed. Who are all these players? Are you talking about the FA's that are in their last 2 years of there career? Big names are not always great players.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS_Signed Chris Baker, TE; Leigh Bodden, CB; Joey Galloway, WR; Nathan Hodel, LS; Al Johnson, C; Shawn Springs, CB; and Fred Taylor, RB. Re-signed Matt Cassel, QB (f), and traded him to Kansas City; re-signed Eric Alexander, LB; Wesley Britt, OL; Chris Hanson, P; Russ Hochstein, OL; James Sanders, S; Ray Ventrone, S; Mike Wright, DL; and Tank Williams, S.

I don't see any players on there I would want on my team.

After Belichick passes them the other teams playbook they all turn into pro-bowlers. The Patriots are the Richard Nixons of the NFL, i hope we find our **** soon.

realy 'texas' i cnt name any fa who signed with them they all want to be with dallas but i have no idea why they should all want to be a SAINT so they could be on the first super bowl winnin saints team

April 6, 2009  07:25 PM ET

because they all want a ring and like it or not the pats are constantly have a shot at the super bowl

April 6, 2009  07:50 PM ET

where did all this stupidness start? As others have already mentioned, they only get big names if they're at the end of their careers. When it looked like Peppers was going there I heard so many people saying, "he doesn't care about the money. he just wants to play in new england". Get real people! These are professional football players. If they are in the prime of their careers they go where they will make the most money, PERIOD!.

Man POW, youre from Denver and you wouldnt want any of those players on your team? You must not want the Broncos to start winning.

I am a New England fan dating from back in the 60's, and I have stuck with them through thick and thin, I am so sick of hearing from all these complaining (and ignorant) football fans (who, by the way can't even spell) who are simply jealous of the current day PATS. The so called "cheaters"... ..get real...every team has always done the same thing, but we all know Eric Mangini had an "ax to grind". The PATS' coach is the best in the business and everyone knows it. He finds free agents (my bad, FA) who still have talent, desire, leadership ability, and smarts...no wonder the PATRIOTS play smart football and make few mental mistakes. That is not a product of any scandalous nature! Tom Brady is an elite quarterback (contrary to some..) and the PATS will reclaim the Super Bowl Title.

The Patriots don't go after the free agents that everyone else is drooling over. They target the players that fit their system and can contribute within their setup. They'll make a few big name free agent signings (or trades) like Adalius Thomas (or Moss). But for the most part they know their system and they plug players in that will work efficiently. The organization is run like a real business and real football team, not like a fantasy team (that's you Jerry Jones).

Lol I bet you have Tom Brady underwear pictures taped under the top bunk of your bunk bed so you can dream about him at night. Can't sleep on top bunk its too scary!

there's no doubt the Patriots are a very well run and a great organization but where is this statement coming from. Who are all these big name players going to the patriots for less money? I'm not dogging the Patriots at all. What they do works but get real. Players go where the money is most of the time and the Patriots don't have many (if any) more players taking hometown discounts than many other teams around the NFL.

HAHAHA .... I wasn't aware EVERY FA wants to live in Boston Massachusetts in the winter. You sure you don't want to rethink that statement ?
I live in the Northwes, and winter gets hard to deal with if you're not born into it. You just pray you don't have to work outside.

What's your point about the Tom Brady pictures? Of course I do. You'd have them taped to your bunk bed if he were the QB of your team.
