TEAM NEEDS. ( not in order of importance)

RUNNING BACK- thomas jones is 30 and well turn 31 before next season. Leon washington is a great back but hes like a reggie bush. not an inside rusher not an every down back. we need a running back that can block and take jones spot after all our offense is about running the ball and clock managment.

DEFENSIVE TAKLE- our suppirior DT is getting older and our second string is .. well.. only ever going to be a second string DT. We need a replacment and we need them before its too late Jenkins would be a great person to help teach the noobie how to be a champ.

DEFENSIVE END- same senario ellis is getting older and less productive as time passes.

OFFENSIVE LINEMAN- we have some great guys up front but a few are getting older and older. however they are still very productive its a need to be filled in the near future.

WANTS:

WIDE RECEIVER- We have JC he may of been the number two but he had more yards 2 consecutive years over LC. a number two guy would be nice but your wide recievers are only as good as your qb. I THINK we just need a 2nd or 3rd round pick and just add compitition to the depth chart. we dont need a randy moss, at least not until we find our QB who can prove worthy. Besides we have alot of weapons to be a successful pass team. TE, WR, and RB all catch and make big plays. what happends when your throwing west coast style football. safties and CB play close and the mismatch on TE and JC can get down feild to keep them in check. BUT mostly we pound the ball thats just what we dont. Dont waste money on a guy were not ready to use.

QB- we NEED a starting caliber guy. we need that JOE NAMATH. well we might have one in the locker room. just because you dont know Ratliff does not mean hes not good. or just because K.Clemens had bad luck doesnt mean he can be a prowl bowl qb. Look at C.Pennington. we had him and the last three seasons he couldnt get anything going and at that time we had LC and S. moss. and a good TE and C. martin. move him out the a 4-12 team. he does wonders. WHY who knows my point is give these boys a shot. address whats known to be a need before addressing a possition that we may already have the answer to.

TE- D.Keller is a great Catching TE but we need a great blocking TE as well. after all Leon makes most of his plays on the outside. would be nice to have the outside guy a great blocker

DEPTH

FB- we have a prow bowl guy... but hes getting older and sooner or later we need a replacement

SO COME DRAFT DAY WE NEED TO FILL OUR SOON TO BE HOLES. HOWEVER THE WAY I SEE IT. WE HAVE A FREE YEAR TO DRAFT THE BEST GUY ON THE BOARD. MAKE SAFE PICKS EARLY AND THIS IS THE YEAR TO GO OUT ON A LIMB AND DRAFT FOR SOME DIMONDS IIN THE ROUGH. GO J!E!T!S!

I agree with you on all those points. I think the needs in order are WR, DE, OL, TE, RB, and then best available player. If I were a GM I'd look at trying to trade back and pick up Harvin.

Manu,
I disagree with you, we shouldn't take Harvin. I saw him in High School and followed him in at UF, he is injury prone. Yes he is talented and fast, but he I don't think he can take the NFL pounding. Right now, if neither Crabtree or Maclin drop down to our pick(which I doubt) I think we should trade the pick and drop down. Maybe pick up Nick from UNC towards the end of the first round or take the local kid Britt from Rutgers in the second.

I personally think we need to give Kellen a chance. The Jets have been too quick give the QB the hook and last year, Brett just disappeared at the end.

I like that the Woody wants to win, but he puts a team that together to win NOW and not develop the talent that we have to compete against the Pats over the long haul. It's not gonna happen overnight, but it's worth the wait.

Kellen was drafted to be your starter eventually. Let's see if with a much improved O-line and him being in the same system for 4 years if this is "eventually". Forget the draft a QB talk!!! RB,WR,D-line,depth at O-line are much more pressing needs this year. Why give up on Clemens(or
Ratliff for that matter)so soon?Age is creeping in on both lines and at RB,plus with Coles gone there is an obvious need at WR. Address those needs first.
