I Like 1,2,3 for 2009. 4...not so much. We have Rod Smith in town. No need to pay someone when Rod is willing to do it for free just because he is the most humble all-star receiver to live. May even consider hiring Rod as WR coach. (I know...I'm dreaming) 5...You gotta love 5. Peyton Hillis goes out there with an undying love for the game and an uncanny need to win for his team. Oh, and Tom Brady was a Small College/Middle Round QB. Nough said about that one.
2010 - I hope to never see Tebow in Denver. And yeah...free up cap by cutting all our nobody RB's. Selvin Young, "I'm going to rush 2000 yards."
I wish Rod Smith would be hired as a WR coach.
Tom Brady went to the University of Michigan but was a middle Round QB.

I don't think they are going to draft all Def in the first round. Xman and McD both believe in selecting the best possible player, so if Moreno, Freeman, or Wells are on their list, they will go before some defenders. If Moreno falls to 18, I am almost positive they will pick him up.
12. Raji
18. Moreno
Peyton Hillis will be going back to FB, he is awesom at that position, we have plenty of backs that should be outperforming him strickly at RB, we don't even have a FB.
I don't think we should sign Holt or Harrison.. its not the age, but the money, they want way more than they are worth.
Pick up Juaquin Iglesias at 48, or maybe in the 3/4 take a chance on Marko Mitchell, 6'4'' fast and big, he would be a good fit in Denver.
In 10, I agree, better draft class for QB's.
Sanchez would be the best QB if he came out in 2010. He's the best QB now.

If Sanchez is there at #12, take him, but don't trade up to take him. I'm perfectly comfortable with Kyle Orton, and he would be the starter anyway. If Sanchez isn't there, draft defense with both picks in the first round. I'm all for a Brian Cushing/Peria Jerry combo in the first round.
Don't draft a QB this year, or if you do, get him in the third round. D-Line help with the 12, more D Line help or LB help with the 18. More D with the 2nd rounder. More D with the two third rounders. BJ Raji at 12 if he's still there, which he may be now with the off-field stuff. Peria Jerry or Tyson Jackson at 18. LB is deep in this draft, so grab a LB in the second round. Maybe trade up from the 3rd round to the 2nd and get a good safety like Delmas, Chung, or Moore.
If Orton doesn't work out this year, use the two first rounders next year to move up and get Bradford, who would have been the top QB if he came out this year.
DailyDose, "nough said" about Tom Brady coming from a small college.
What are you talking about? Have you ever seen a Michigan game? Did you know they call their stadium the "Big House"? To say Tom Brady went to a small college is like saying Brandon Marshall has a clean criminal record. "Nough said".
QUOTE(#2):
Oh, and Tom Brady was a Small College/Middle Round QB.
I never thought of Michigan as being a small college, and I always thought rounds 3-5 were the middle rounds not the 6th... but I get your point, he wasn't a big time College stud...
If Cassel looked like a Pro Bowler, then Orton who's a better QB can strive in the same system...Are Orton or Simms the long term answer, I'm not counting on it! But stranger things have happened... see Kurt Warner.
Still I would love to see the Broncos load up on Defense this year!
The only way I would be O.K. with them Drafting a QB is if Sanchez falls to 12, ONLY if he falls to 12...
The Idea of targeting Bradford for 2010 sounds great, but Orton might have something to say about that... I really would love to see Orton blossom and take his career to an elite level as a Bronco.... but definitely using our ammo in 2010 for Bradford sounds better than having to trade up for Sanchez.
The Broncos have endless possibilities with all their Draft Picks but our first three should set the tone for our Draft... and here are my scenarios for picks 12, 18, and 48.
Mock 1
12- NT B.J. Raji (if available... the NT is the anchor to the 3-4, and Ronald Fields is the only player in the roster who can play NT, I think we can use an upgrade)
18- ILB J. Laurinaitis (Maualuga is gone by now, we could take Cushing but could be gone as well, im not sold on Matthews... we need a leadership presence at ILB that we've been lacking since Al Wilson )
48- OLB Larry English(If available) or OLB Clint Sintim, or BEST DB AVAILABLE. (We need a spark plug, and we could use that in a form of a pass rusher or a playmaker at DB, 48 is a good spot for that) OR DE Jarron Gillbert, is a perfect fit for the 3-4 DE... Dumervil, Moss, even versatile DJ could strive at OLB in the 3-4...
MOCK 2
12- R. Maualuga (consummate leader at ILB that we've been lacking since Wilson)
18- T. Jackson (We need a DE who can play in the 3-4, Jackson is the best 3-4 END!)
48- See MOCK 1.
Here is my Big Board
12- R. Maualuga
18-Peria Jerry, DT Ole Miss
48- Patrick Chung, S, Ore or Rashad Johnson
79 Alex Mack, C, Cal or Johnathan Luigs, C, Arkansas
84 Brian Hoyer QB MI. ST, Rhett Bomar QB Sam Houston, Nate Davis QB Ball ST, Chase Daniels QB Mizzou, Rudy Carpenter QB AZ ST, Graham Harrell
114 Javon Ringer RB, MI ST, Brandon Gibson WR, WA ST.,
149 Fenuki Tupou, OT Oregon, Fili Moala DT, USC, Rashon Harris, DT Ore. Cary Harris CB USC,
185 Patrick Turner, WR USC, Jarrett Dillard WR Rice,
225 Ian Johnson, RB Boise ST, Herb Donaldson Rb Western Ill
235 Julian Edleman QB Kent ST.

Draft the defense with an emphasis on speed and the ability to rush the passer. They may need to continue to add some depth on the o-line, but the defensive hole are more vital. Orton will be okay, he may have to adjust to being able to pass without getting laid out every play. Cutler could have a tough year, and I would bet that Orton has a better statistical year.
P. Jerry is not suited for the 3-4 as he can't play a straight up NT, so they better pass on him. This is what I would draft on day 1.
12. Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU
18. James Laurinaitis, ILB, OSU
48. LeSean Jackson, RB, Pitt
79. Jarron Gilbert, DE/OLB, SJS
84. Mike Mickens, DB, UC
Day 2 - draft quarterback (McGee, Bomar, Parker-Wilson)
I love how all of you think you know what is best for the broncos when neither you or I have any clue what this team is going to look like. If they are trying to be patriots west...which would appear to be with McBellicheat's handling of Cutler, they have nowhere near the personnell to pull it off. Does anybody really think Kyle Orton is the long term solution?? They are going to be awful anyway next year, might as well get a franchise type QB to grow while they suck. Getting a QB in the later rounds is a fallacy, Pats got lucky with brady. Look at the starting QBs in the league and I think you will find that about half of them are first rounders.

You're right. We have absolutely no clue. But these are discussion boards. Places where we can talk and (dare I say it)...Guess what is going to happen in the future. And my guess is that Kyle Orton will do better than he did in CHI which wasn't that bad.
I would also hate to say that the Pats got lucky with Tom Brady. That's just not giving any credit to the coaching staff who all clearly knew what was going to be laid in their laps by the sixth round. The only thing that was lucky was that no one else saw it.
That's like saying Mike Shannahan was lucky when he drafted T. Davis. Shanny completely knew what he was getting when he drafted him in late (5/6?)th round. These guys aren't stupid. They know what they like...and they what it takes to get what they want. They even know what the other coaches will probably want. These coaches are seeking those diamonds in the rough. Just like fantasy football players do every single year. Look for the break out sleeper in the late rounds of the draft. Not lucky.
I'd rather try to get Ron Brace (BC) than Jerry. Use the first round for a solid MLB and a 3-4 DE. Brace is better suited for the nose in a 3-4 than Jerry and wouldn't cost as much.
OMG why did we not draft ILB? OMG
R. Maualuga went right after we traded up in round 2 (THE NEXT PICK)
Center way to late I saw Johnathn Luigs play at Arkansas they sould of grabbed this guy, he was a sure fire starting Center
