NBA  > General NBA  > NBA Propelled Lebron's Cavs to the 2006-'07 Finals
April 8, 2009, 02:53 PM
David Stern propelled the '06-'07 Cleveland Cavaliers from 4th to 2nd seed when he changed the playoff format (after about 60 years of same format)... as a result, Lebron and the Cavs became the first and ONLY non-Division champion 2nd-seeder in NBA history (under the old format, Division champs take top seeds)... thus, paving them Cavs an easier rout to the Finals. Was the new format so bad that Stern changed it one more time the following season? No back-to-back format, no back-to-back Finals appearance! What say you?
