NFL  > Tennessee Titans  > We don't need a 1000 yd WR....
April 14, 2009, 05:16 PM
I've heard soooo many people lately say things like "The Titans need a star receiver" and "You know something is wrong when your TE is one of your leading recievers." I would have to disagree.

I do believe that the Titan receiving core needs to be better, but I don't think that the Titans need a "star receiver".......just a more reliable core of receivers. The Titans don't want to pay through the nose for a receiver that will get thrown to 2000 yds and 24 TD's..........w/o a Randy Moss.....

What do y'all think???

The Titans need that kind of receiver to help stretch the field and create more opportunities for the others. Having two guys like that is even better. Trust me they need one.

sure they may not "need" one, but why would you not want one. It can only improve your team b/c at the very least it would take one more guy out of the box for your running game

Im a long time Titans fan . I would love to see a 1000 yrd receiver with the team . It would open so much more for the running game .Having a player who can do that and be productive in the receiver area on the feild look out Super Bowl here comes the Titans .

I agree with YOU blueraider. We got the speed in Washington and Hawkins. We need an OLB, CB or DT in the first round.

I am also a loooong time oilers/titans fan and I agree they do need a stronger core of receivers...this would create more running room for the boys in the back! Got to keep the linebackers and safeties honest!!!
Go Titans Go!!

I hope the Titans get a playmaker receiver , I know Crabtree and Harvin may be gone when our # is called but there should be a few good choices left ,like Brian Robiskie out of Ohio State . He has good hands and is productive enough he can draw some attention . The Big ten has a good group of receivers ,But the bread and butter comes from the SEC we have to look there .GO TITANS ,and VOLS

I can agre with ladyvolsfan on all but one. The DT we have a good core of DT's.Look at Jones he came in for Big Al and did well I might add . Now on the OLB and CB yeah some help wouldnt hurt but our D was great it was the O needing a extra step Down the line esp on the corners so I would say WR in first and then the DT and CB .

April 21, 2009  03:49 PM ET

1st rd: BPA of CB, DE, OLB (it wouln't hurt to get an immediate impact.....kick returner, etc.)
2nd rd: BPA of CB, DE, OLB
3rd-7th: BPA of WR, TE, OL, DL, and whatever was not taken in rds 1-2

-Save QB pick till next year when the class will be deep and you know where Vince stands....who knows? maybe we can get Tebow at a great price.
-Save RB till next year when you know about Lendale's contract/weight status

April 22, 2009  05:25 PM ET

For sure save the Qb for next year when Tebow ,McCoy , Bradford along with alot of other Qbs are coming out . That would be smart for sure You know Ive been saying WR all along now If james Launitus is still there I would grab him up we need a strong young LB there that can bring a level up like he can . And maybe Marcus Freeman to Im not a OSU fan but they do produce some great linebackers . Them two would make a impact also

We can use a good wr. If we can stretch the field who knows what thunder and lightnin can do then. We need someone that can keep the cb and safties honest. 15 - 1 TITANS 2009 . WHO KNOWS (SUPER BOWL CHAMPS.) GOOOOOOOOOO TITANS

your right. the titans don't need and won't pay "through the nose" for a 1000 yd reciever. We just need a reciever that can catch the ball and can take some pressure off our quaterback and out running game...a couple good recievers will REALLY help our offense
