Mad props to my man mason !!!! We need a big play threat I have been saying this for months. I hope this happens too brother
That would be cool, such a sweet replacement for Plax
Get BE that's awsome & why not get TG from the cheifs for a second rounder. 2 tight end sets Boss & TG, BE #1, Steve Smith!?!!
If it happens John Clayton was saying a 1 and a 3 on ESPN today, so that leaves two second rounders, if I am not mistaken....
They could combine them move up and get Hakeem Nicks, just to have him on the roster, which I think would be (to take a Boston word) a Wicked Cool Move... For those that want Heyward-Bey (speed and size I would point out Quadry Ismail, Troy Williamson & Robert Meachem as why speed and size are overrated). Vernon Ghholston ring a bell, anyway... I have been saying Nicks all along, so I think he's the guy.
IF NOT, move up and get a LT. Diehl is not a long-term answer there, and I have said this for a while, too. He got schooled several times last year... anyone remember andre ware in t Dallas game (game 2 of the season)? Anyway, move him to the right side, he is slower, and on the right side you can get away with that - anyone remember Scott Gragg? went to serveral Pro-Bows with the Niners after NYG let him go. McKenzie is a liability, but having him as a solid backup ould be sweet, just like the glut f talent on the D-Line.
Anyway, if not move up to the 1st, take a LB with the first of the 2 2nd round picks and take a Tackle with the next one and a TE in the 3rd round.
Love the move if it happens. I'd rather keep the first round pick and give them three picks. We have 2 picks in the 2nd, 3rd, and if I'm not mistaken the 5th. Give them a pick from each of those rounds and keep our draft in tact. Address Left tackle, MLB, and I'm telling you guys take RAMSES BARDEN in the third. If this kid comes in and lines up opposite of Braylon, "LIGHTS OUT NFC EAST"! Defense will roll and so will the offense for years to come.
NO **** WAY. This move is a DISASTER. HE HAS STONE HANDS. Be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it....
Why is this guy so excited? I would be pissed if my team gave up a first round pick + more for some butterfingered WR

Completely agree. one 2nd one 3rd, maybe Moss or young d lineman like alford. Nothing more!!! Like the idea of hicks and edwards together or maybe britt. But i dont think they should give up no 1 unless they know without a doubt that they could move back into the first round with something like a round 2 pick plus a 4th or a 5th. but i dont think that they can get a gaurantee like that.

Don't sell Edwards too short. 2 years ago the Browns had a decent year and he had a great, Pro Bowl year. Last year the Browns stunk and he had an off year. Which is the cart and which is the horse? Maybe he had a bad year because the team around him stunk. On the Giants, he'd be free of the rabble he was surrounded by in Cleveland and he'll be really good. Browns know that and won't let him go for less then a first round pick plus . Look for a first and a third, or a first and a later round with a receiver other than Smith. KC is also interested in him and may pull off an end-around to snatch him.

Look at it this way... Drops can be a product of alot of things, and receivers routinely have bad seasons, though some of their bad years are brought to light more so than others because their team sucks (in the Cleveland case), because they are a pain (T.O.).
Brandon Marshall dropped 12 passes last year.
The real issue is this is not an official stat, to my knowledge, so how is it really measured? Who determines whether a pass is a drop, or not? Yadda, yadda, yadda.
Bottom line is this... No single QB copmpleted more than 50.6% of their passes last season, suggesting they were not very accurate, not that his 16 drops would have changed things. Also, with the team being so bad at moving the ball regularly, how is he supposed to get into a rhythm?
Also, he was apparently trageted over 130 times... had 16 drops, and caught 55. where were the passes? You get the picture.
There is more to drops than just drops.
As A browns fan PLEASE take this guy really 1,3, 5 I would of taken it along time ago the problem is that the eagles have gotten into this thing remember they have two 1s and are placed higher on the board then big blue expect mangini to pit these two division rivals against each other as far as going for edwards . The good news is BRAYLON won't have a rock to hide under in NY and if he thinks cleveland is tough to play for HA HA HA get your popcorn ready !!!!!
Becareful what you wish for . that would imply hope !! wish NY U got it !!!!!! Welcome Kid Crisco !
I have no problem giving two number 2's and S. Moss. Nothing else, I think Manningham will be a superstar and Hixon is needed for special teams. Smith is too good to trade.
This move is worth a 1st and a 3rd. Edwards is a stud. Everybody has labeled him not worthy because of his "drops" in 2008. Let's take a step back and look at 2007 - 16TDs, 1200 yds, 80+ catches. Those numbers are better than Plax's and let's not forget that of the 12 games the Giants won last season, Plax only had 4TD's....he ALSO had a bad season, but that doesn't define him, nor does last years "bump in the road" define Edwards. The kid is only 26 and is a monster. His skills will be tuned up under the Giants direction and he will draw that so coveted double coverage that we lost after Plax left. And besides what good does 10 picks do when half of those guys wont even make the roster. Give up the 1st and 3rd and that still leaves us with 2 seconds, a 3rd, 4th, 2 5ths and so on.....more than enough to fill the OT, LB, RB depth. This move would allow Reese to take the "best available" in the draft and not a "need position" pick. I'll welcome you any day of the week Braylon...make it happen Reese!!!!!! Go G-Men!! Cant wait!!!

I hear your points. Bottom line, Edwards is the best available sloution for the giants to make after releasing plax (boldin is a no 2 rec and so is TJ who is in seatle anyway). The problem is that Edwards is not s solution and does not replace Plaxico's talent. Plax was much more anticipated then what Edwards will be. So the point here is dont give up a first round for him. 2 and a 3, 2 and a 4, 2-5- and a young decent player... not Kiwi, not Smith or manningham. They have depth on the d line that the can give up. Alford has a lot of potential. I really could see the giants parting with Kiwi though (unfortunatly).
And FYI on Edwards. Take another step back and look at his production years prior to 2007. One good year on a TEAM that was clicking does not make a great or good reciever. Yes the browns as a whole stunk it up... but Calvin johnson is not making excuses in Detriot!!! and they traded Williams away. Johnson still got it done. individually anyway. Trade for Edwards... but dont give up a round 1 pick and please if the deal is done... nobody say this is the missing piece to get the giants to the superbowl!!!

I know the G-men need a big play threat, but I'm still a little leery of Edwards. Yeah, he's a big play threat, but the drops are not just something that popped up in '08. I went to Michigan and watched him there, and trust me, the guy's been dropping routine passes since college. My friends and I used to joke that if you wanted Edwards to catch the ball, just don't throw it at his chest. Try to hit him in the numbers, and the ball literally will hit him in the numbers.
With that said, they probably aren't going to find a better solution (although I'd love to see them package a bunch of picks and see if they could move up for Crabtree), and perhaps being on the Giants might bring his attitude in line a little better.

He's had one good season out of four.
Maybe part of the reason his team stunk was because he led the league in dropped passes.

I agree that Edwards is not completely the solution....mainly because I personally believe that losing Plax is not mainly the problem. Don't get me wrong, the Gmen did not win when it counted and it's easy to point that problem on the loss of Plax. But there were other issues going on down the final stretch....the D-Line was worn down and didn't get the needed pressure, and Gillbride didn't stick to the run game and tried to force the pass against Philly.
I've been a Giants fan since the early 80's and in the 25 years I've watched them, they have Never been a dominant pass team.....that is not the Giants style! The Giants are a run it down your throat, kill you with defense team, always have been, always will be. With that said, having a true #1 WR is not critical to the way the Giants play football. Plax is the best receiver they have had in a long time, maybe ever, but it was more his presence and abilitly to draw coverage and spread the field out for the Run game that made him work for the Giants, not his "outstanding hands". And although Braylon is not Plax, i think Braylon can do the same because of his size, and big play potential. All any receiver needs to do in the Giants system is "do enough to let the Run game do it's thing".
And aside from all that, this draft is deep with WR talent. #1's want too much money. IMO, the best players and the #2's and #3's because they don't have the attitude and have something to prove. Reese can find great talent in the 2nd and 3rd rounds without selling out for the big names. He's done it in the past and I think he's going to do it again.
My prediction: Reese makes the trade for Edwards, drafts a LT with the #2, a LB with the #3 and another young big WR at #4, RB depth at 5 and so on.
I am hoping we get Boldin instead. While Edwards is the more physically gifted player, Boldin is a workaholic who will bring toughness to the Giants receiving corps. Those dropped passes were troubling.
