NFL  > Seattle Seahawks  > The Bos vs. Ryan Leaf in all-time draft bust tourney!
April 17, 2009, 09:52 AM
The results are in and the opening round of April Badness has come to a close. As expected, all No. 1 seeds advanced easily with Ryan Leaf considered so much of a bust that he won unanimously over "Hollywood" Henderson. Surprised not one wisenheimer voted for Hollywood.

Not all of the two seeds were quite as lucky, as Jeff George was upset by Pittsburgh's Tim Worley in the Jim Irsay region. The closest matchup took place in the Mike Brown region with Mike Mamula narrowly edging out Andy Katzenmoyer by a single vote! Sorry Andy, you're going home -- no recounts here! For the full results, let's go to the polls!

Bosworthless is not even the biggest bust the Seahawks have picked. Kelly Stoufer (picked over Emmitt Smith), Dan McGuire (Picked over Brett Favre) and of course Rick Meyer who was handed the francise and threw his chance away. We should have known that Rick Meyer would be a bust because Jermome Bettis and Ricky Watters shared the backfield with him.

Ryan Leaf just is not that big of a bust...

Who else went in the top 5 that year?

Andre Wadsworth, Curtis Enis, and Charles Woodson.

Sure, Charles Woodson turned out well, but the Chargers woes didn't come on the defensive side of the ball.

How about Heisman Trophy winner, Andre Ware?

QUOTE(#2):

Ryan Leaf just is not that big of a bust...

Well, yeah he was. Just because there were others, it doesn't lessen the crap that was Ryan Leaf's career as a #2 pick. And to think there was a serious argument about Manning versus Leaf before the draft.

When the Bos was here he played good solid ball for the Hawks. Leaf didn't come close to playing good ball for the Chargers. The Bos had injuries and the Leaf had a poor attitude and wasn't capable. Lotta a difference in the two.
