Nice piece on some top players taken with last pick or 32nd position.

Have fun this year with a healthy Tom Brady running rampant on your sorry ****. Pats will own you this year, and every year that Brady is healthy. You had better be lining up to give that man BJ's, starting with Rooney, Tomlin, and Ben, b/c he is the only reason you won the SB. Enjoy it while you can.

Gusto...It'll take alot more than Brady to get the Pats back in the game...besides, there is talk he's being traded, and either way, whether he stays or goes, it'll be a cold day in "heck" before Brady runs rampant on the Steelers "D"...JUST THINK "6" and you'll know why the Steelers are the best.

Are you quacko? Brady being traded? DON'T THINK SO!

Its always fun when the ignorant (ie. gusto1691) open their mouths. Its one thing to support and defend your team, its quite another when you have to resort to crassness like that. The Pats seemed like such a class act as they won their first SB...too bad it couldn't last, unlike the consistant class that is the Rooney family and the Steelers organization. GO Blitzburgh, climb "The Stairway to Seven"!

April 23, 2009  03:27 AM ET

You seem to confuse ignorance with truth. A healthy TOM Brady will show you exactly what i mean this year. Have fun with that.

The Steelers are one of the best evaluators of talent as there is in the NFL. There turn out LBs like they come from from an assembly line, for example.

gusto1691,
no one can argue the success the patriots have had. good coaching, good players, they draft well. the problem most people have with the patriots (and their fans) is that they are a**holes.

regarding the coaches, it is a fact they cheated. it has been proven and they have been punished for it. it is also widely accepted (by nfl insiders) they cheated more than they admitted to. and, please don't forget how belichek got the patriot job in the first place. remember how he shafted the jets? yeah, he doesn't really have much integrity in the nfl circles as say Noll, Cowher, Rooney Family.

as for the players, i don't know why, but rodney harrison got a free pass from the media for his 4 game suspension regarding hgh. never mind the fact a 4 game suspension means he's already been busted once. and your buddy brady is an a**hole too. have you ever seen him give another team credit when he's lost a game? i haven't.

you see, people don't admire those that are just successful. if so, then dennis rodman would be a hero. instead, people admire those that are successful, respectable, have a high level of integrity. that's why the steelers organization has gotten so much love recently. they just treat people the right way and happen to win at the same time.

but, you're right. the patriots will be tough with Brady back. hopefully, the debate gets answered on the field this year. i think we all would look forward to that.

Oh yes we tremble in fear because of course no one can win if the wonderful TOM BRADY is playing.... Oh wait a minute isn't he the LOSER from SBXLII? Yeah that's right 13 point favorites and lost. Course there's those other Superbowls were Tom scored the winning points. Oh what 's that? Every NE win came from Adam Vinateri? Tom has never been on the field when the winning points were scored?? Wow the great Tom Brady has thrown one less Superbowl winning pass than Big Ben AND Antwaan Randle El, and he ain't even a quarterback!!

April 24, 2009  09:14 AM ET

wait....who has the lowest QB rating ever for a SB??? hmmmm....oh yeah...your beloved big ben. Also, who hasmore SB rings than big ben?.....Brady again! Doesn't matter who won the game for them, they won. Big ben certainly didn't win the 1st one for the Steelers, based on your theory, that doesn't count I guess. We'll just have to wait and see. But last I remembered, when Brady was healthy and they played your beloved steelers 2 seasons ago, your D ran their mouthes and got straight lit up!!

Actually, a second year backup who was starting due to injury ran his mouth. He was targeted, got beat twice, and didn't start another game for the Steelers ever since. If you want to hang your hat on that, then go right ahead.

I'll tell you what I remember the last time Brady played.
1. The sack he took in the 3rd quarter on 3rd down with the ball on Giant's 25 yard line that knocked them out of field goal position. (Vinatieri would have made it though)
2. The last play of the 3rd quarter at midfield. 3rd and long and Brady dumps it to RB for nothing.
3. The last 4 plays of Brady's career: Incomplete, Sack, Incomplete, Incomplete.

Finally, to be historically accurate, in the second half of the super bowl Brady converted 2 of 7 third down chances including a sack that took 3 points off the board. Twice completing passes well short of the first down marker. Don't forget his fumble near the end of the first half as they were moving into FG range.

And if you want to point to their scoring drive in the 4th quarter, then make sure you give credit where it is due. Welker and the RB's caught short passes and earned tough yards after the catch that kept that drive going.

Only if the Pats cheat some more. Sounds like you're the one who should be giving BJ's.

let's see steeler 'tards....brady's 03 SB perfromance(354 yds, 3td, 1int, 100.5 rating) '07 SB(266 yds, 1td, 0int, 82.5 rating) '04 SB (236 yds, 2 td, 0int, 110.2 rating) and '01SB (145 yds, 1td, 0int, 86.2 rating) 3-1 overall record. Big Ben in SB's...o5 SB(123 yds, 0td, 2int, 22.6 rating), 09 SB (256 yds, 1td, 1int, 93.2 rating) So to say that ben is better than Brady is ridiculous, as is trying to merit brady not being any good based on the last 4 plays of theSB they lost. the only edge ben has over brady is 2-0 so far in the SB. but brady has been there twice as many times. Also, every year that Ben went to the SB, they did not play the Pats in the playoffs. Amazing! Like i said, pats will own you this yr. And vaughn, i'll leave the BJ's up to your mom, she'a amazing at them, but Im sure you either already know or have already heard. good luck squeeler fans

April 26, 2009  01:29 AM ET

tell you what gust1691, the Steelers will deficate on your sorry **** Red Sox scrubs. Stariway to 7 starts this year and the showdown will end the Pats nice run.

Big Ben is tougher, more agile, and can lead a C+ offense to a Super Bowl win. Brady was surrounded by an outstanding team. Big Ben had one TE and one WR to throw to in the Super Bowl and not much more during the playoffs or regular season. Big Ben will be the best QB of this era. Brady is the best now, if he heals from what his witch-doctor did to him.

Remeber, the Red Sox lost to a pitiful Jake Plummer lead Donkey's team 3 years go.

Ha ha, of course the Pats fan has to chime in on a Steelers post. Hey, gusto, come back and talk once your Pats have won an SB under Brady when they haven't cheated. We're not talking about cheating by players straight out of college here, we're talking the actual HC and his staff. As far as I'm concerned, you guys are the dirtiest team in the league, and your **** HC won't even apologize for it, has to come up with another lie that he "misinterpreted the rule." What a crook.

You say that Pittsburgh never had to play the Pats during each of the recent titles runs. Who's fault is it if New England doesn't make it to the playoffs or a playoff round where they can meet the Steelers? Here a hint: It's not Pittsburgh's fault. You're just like those whiney Tennessee crybabies who say Pittsburgh had a cheap SB win because they didn't beat the Titans along the way in the playoffs. That's a laugh, Tennessee screwed it up for themselves by losing to the Ravens. I'd say Pittsburgh's two recent titles are plenty legit if they beat the teams that beat the Pats.

And as a team and organization, New England doesn't hold a candle to Pittsburgh. Hell, you guys aren't even ahead of Dallas and New England in SB championships. So chew on that, ya jackhole homer. Once again, feel free to talk once you've won a title untainted by Belicheat.

April 26, 2009  04:21 AM ET

Whoops, I meant "Dallas and San Francisco". As if you didn't know that.
