NFL  > Oakland Raiders  > Al Davis should have to leave the planet on draft day.

Al needs to cut back on, or change his meds. He's AWFUL!!!

Now I see why Raiders fans where disguises to the home games.

Crabtree better breath a sigh of relief !

We'll be hearing about Heyward-Bay again REAL soon. And how freaking unhappy he is, has been and always will be - as long as he's a Raider

I guess Al wasn't interested in another Tim Brown. Crabtree kind of reminds me of TB.

Another pathetic Al Davis draft...so what else is new? I think he continues to hang on to his command just to spite the football world and all of the Raider fans! We could have had Orakpo or Raji or one of the many excellent LBs available to help our putrid run D or at least got Brace in the 2nd. But no - he grabs to extreme reaches and leaves every analyst laughing and shaking their heads. But wait!!! they can both run under 4.5 - whoopee!!!!! At the very least he could have traded down to the bottom of the first round and still picked Bey.
Looks like they'll be picking in the top 10 again next year. Sad.

CLEVELANDSTINKS: There is a chance that AL Davis does know quite a bit more about the NFL Draft than Mel Kiper. I understand that Mel is an "expert" draft analyst and knows a lot, his is a front runner that doesn't get the chance to send recruters to small town that have a population of 100. Al knows what he is doing, is it going to work? We shall see but let's not freak out untill we see how he plays. You know only of what ESPN and Mel Kiper tell you so take it easy on the irate "I know everything about football" guy. Guy.

Raider_coffey, do you really think AD knows what he's doing on draft day? Since 1999 his 1st rounders have been - Stinchcomb, Janikowski, Gibson,Buchanon and Napoleon Harris (2002), Namdi and Brayton (2003), Gallery, Washington, Huff. I'll leave JR and McFadden off the list for now but of the others I count one good pick - Namdi, while the rest are busts. That's 1 in 10. I think McF will work out but I wouldn't count on JR being anything more than another Leftwich.

Not much of a track record for a man who knows what he's doing. With the exception of a short Gruden stint the Raiders have been lousy for the better part of two decades. I don't see that changing much until Davis relinquishes control.

I'm not trying to be funny, this is an actual concern. Can the rest of the owners take the Raiders upon a showing of alzheimers upon Al Davis. The league's well being is predicated upon competition. This can't possibly be helpful to that end.

Al Davis is the reason why they havent won a superbowl in 26 years he runs off Gruden,Gruden comes back to haunt his stupid ass by beating the living daylights out of them in the superbowl,They had a shot at crabtree and he picks something else because he's always right and everybody else dont know jack He's a moron they need to put him in a home and let the female version of him(his daughter)run the team down the drain

April 26, 2009  02:15 AM ET

Just bad choices in 1st and 2nd round WOW!

April 26, 2009  09:19 AM ET

Al Davis has never been on this planet. One thing for sure though, Raiders mini-camp will be special with JaMarcus throwing long bombs to someone fast running under it. All they need now is DHB to be able to catch it, and JR to be able to get it in the right place. Should be easy right? Oh, you mean at some point they have to put pads on too? No Al Davis discussion on qbcentral.com

By the way, does Mike Mitchell even know who he is?

April 26, 2009  11:00 AM ET

It seems NFL Network had Mitchell graded as a seventh rounder. At least AL traded down seven places before selecting this one - lol.

Go Al !!!!!

Upside - good motor and a knack for making run stops behind the LOS. Downside - injury prone and not a pass rusher. I'd like to see some DTs and LBs at some point.

April 26, 2009  11:50 AM ET

They also need a legit pass rusher or two. Burgess has been injury prone the last several years and I don't see him regaining the status of a QB terror at this point in his career. That leaves Scott as the only true pass rusher.

I just have three words for Al and the staff ,**** !!I sat and watched them squander another draft.Somebody needs to spike Al's oatmeal leading up to the draft because this is getting old.Are you going to tell me that he targeted Mitchell all along? I watched the utube clip and is that a high school video because I couldn't tell who the other team is. Anyway,it was good to see Chucky mixing it up with that draft experts Mayock and Dukes (what makes Dukes an expert anyway?)Maybe next year the nfl channel will go with Gruden,Mooch,Dion and Eisner because they look like they are having fun and Mayock,Dukes and Falk act like they are never wrong and this is life or death if you make the wrong pick. One more thing ,why are New England and Pittsburgh the only teams that know how to run a draft, the way they move around and make picks year in and year out that help their teams immediately is astonishing.
