NFL  > Kansas City Chiefs  > Michael Vick and the Kansas City Chiefs
April 26, 2009, 07:35 PM
Here is what I say. The Chiefs are always being criticized for whatever reason people decide. Well why don't we pick up Michael Vick and give the NFL nation a reason to scrutinize us. Show everyone that the Chiefs and this new management are worried about what people think and that we are gonna do what needs to be done to win.

Why would you take Vick if you want to win? A running QB has never and will never win a superbowl. Vick's best bet is to sell his houses and dig into that construction job he's getting, because he'll never be a winner in the NFL.

John Elway used to run around, he won a super bowl. Ben Rothlessburgers has won it twice. Doug Williams was the first Scarmbler, he won. So I think mobile QB's CAN WIN, they just need the arm to back up the legs. If Vick has been working out, staying healthy, there is a great chance Vick can come back and be effective. Dont ever count out a warrior or A FIGHTER!!!!

Elway, Ben, and Doug were not running QBs. They only run when there is nobody open or they get flushed from the pocket. Every QB scrables when they have to. Your statement mis-guided. Vick has 15 runs CALLED per game, the other guys you mentioned have maybe 1 or 2 plays called for them to run, and those are used in very specific situations, like 4th and 1, or short yardage goal-line plays. No running QB has ever won the Superbowl (FACT), and in my opinion, it won't happen. Passers pass, runners run, blockers block, catchers catch, kickers kick...

trust me guys scott pioli know what hes doing, him and belchick all ways used to find undrafted free agents the should of been 3rd round picks

you guys have the right system now and should be in the playoffs in a year or two

Sounds like to me you have something personal against Vick he must have killed your dog or something. Anyways The other QB's didn't have as many plays drawn up because they were not as mobile. The problem with Vick was he had to many plays drawn up and honestly all his plays should have been pass plays so that he could think off the Cuff and do what he needed to get the ball to others or run this way the defense had to set up for a pass situation which by default would leave him pretty much unguarded. Stop looking for a cookie cutter QB

YEAH VICK CAN RUN BUT HE ALSO HAS A DAMN GOOD ARM. IM ROOTING TO SEE VICK BACK OUT THERE NO MATTER WHAT TEAM IT IS. HE IS A VERY EXCITING PLAYER AND HE WILL HELP ANY TEAM HE JOINS.

Yeah I just think people are followers and only sound off on what others think or what the census is this guy fought and killed dogs well ok he was punished and now thats over now he can play again there are plenty of players that have done far worse and are still playing. I see lets crucify the black guy that killed a dog. I bet if that had been Brady he wouldn't even had been in Jail. I saw how the public were going after him on this and its just funny that cause he killed some dogs all of sudden he is no good well now he has had a long time off and fully rested and apparently in great shape I for one am tired of having a team that Sucks so bring him on.

That's right, play the race card. The problem with that statement is that (white or not) Tom Brady is not dumb enough to fund and operate a dogfighting ring on a property he owns.

you guys know nothing about football!! have u ever heard of Elway, Young, doug william etc they were scrable qb's!! they won superbowls!! VICK Actually has a great win lose record as a qb!! he can win games, but he needs work as an overall qb!!!

June 24, 2009  05:19 AM ET

Vick is an exciting QB and I want to see him play again but not for the chiefs. We got Cassel and Thigpen to do the QB job. I predict that the chiefs will be 9-6 this year. With the Raiders and the disintigrating Bronos, that leaves the Chargers to go up against for the division title. Scott and Todd are getting this franchise turned around!

Wow... You guys are over thinking this whole thing... My comments have nothing to do with race or dogs, they have to do with the fact that the running QB won't work. Vick already had a 1,000 season, and that wasn't enough... And let's also remember that the Commish could very well suspend him for 1-2 years. Even if you are a fan, you have to KNOW that after 3-4 years off the field, his best days are behinds him when it comes to running.

Leave Vick out of the equation. I have never seen so much talk for a QB who has a rating of 76 for his career. You know, the QB, the one who is suppose to throw the ball, rather than run all the time.
