EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Minnesota Vikings first-round draft pick Percy Harvin has been hospitalized because of severe dehydration and will not participate in the team's weekend rookie minicamp.

Vikings coach Brad Childress said Friday that Harvin became ill the previous day during a flight to Atlanta. From there, the former University of Florida wide receiver was scheduled to continue to the Twin Cities, but he vomited during the flight and was sent to an Atlanta hospital as a precaution.

Childress said doctors ruled out swine flu as the cause for Harvin's illness. Childress also said Harvin is expected to be released from the hospital in a day or two.
