NFL  > Minnesota Vikings  > Minnesota Vikings will finish last this season...
May 1, 2009, 06:33 PM
The Minnesota Vikings are a good team. They got many tools for the team. But once again the Vikings will finish last in the division this year. Because once again for the second straight season the Viks have not picked up a quarterback. Yes they brought in Sage Rosenfals this year. But hears the Viks going to stink it up. T Jack going to not win the job. And Sage is not becoming a great player. So why didn't the Vikings really draft a quarterback or even pick up a good quarterback in the offseason. And don't tell me they are going to bring in a free agent. Because there no one good out there. Now what is your opinion out there.

Spoken like a true packers or bears fan. Either that or you're an uniformed idiot. Oh wait, probably both. The Vikes (yes this is how it is truly spelled) have not finished in the bottom of the division since Clinton was in office. And have had only a hand full of last place finishes in their entire existence. I can guarantee you that have won the division more times that any of the other three teams. And for another guarantee, they will win it again this year with TJ or Sage.

I still like TJack. He needs Childress to open up the offense to stop the opposing D from stacking the line of scrimmage & blitzing constantly. Letting the defense do that has also hindered their biggest weapon...AP. Peterson may get 100+ yards per game, but it's usually because of a couple 35-45 yard runs while the rest are short gains because the defense plays so many guys up. Vikes need more creativity...play-action passes, misdirection plays, screens, rollouts, deep balls, QB runs, etc. Childress has the tools, but hasn't shown he knows how to use them.

TJack is an athletic QB with a strong arm. Let him use what he's got instead of playing so conservatively. Childress doesn't play to win...he plays to not lose. If he doesn't take the Vikes a long way this year he needs to go.

The Vikes have a defense that can win the Lombardi trophy. If Tarvaris can't lead the offense into the playoffs, he's out for 2010. So is Childress. I'm a die-hard Vikings fan, and I am ready to see them improve on last year.

I have Minnesota winning the division. If anything, they'd improved over last year with the additions of Sage, Harvin, and Loadholt.

Viks (yes, this is how it's really spelled) blow. They give AP the ball and that's it. The depth or lack there of, in abilities to win games is pathetic. Easily if AP goes out this team is a 5 or 6 win team. Never good to rely on the shoulders of one player.

I'll be the first Bears fan to say it. If Harvin busts a 1300 yd season you will have no problem winning 10 games.

Brad Childress is to blame. Philadelphia was happy to let him leave.I don't understand how a coach can go from offensive coordinator under pass-happy Andy Reid... and have absolutely zero interest in acquiring a decent quarterback.

You're just kidding right? Vikes...although, I shouldn't expect a bears fan to be able to spell.

Once again? Like last year?

May 4, 2009  08:45 AM ET

Let's see, they won 10 games last year with a bad quarterback. Just think how they could do with a good quarterback like Favre.

You vikings fans are hilarious...My birthday is dec 28 when bears play vikings.....
no matter what happens we will find a way to win both games..and the division. The Vikqueens won the division by default last year, The entire NFC North will be more competitive because on paper each team has gotten better and it will be interesting to see how it translates to games. I predict that the NFC North will be like the NFC East was in 07 & 08 when everybody was battling hard. The Williams gang is going to be suspended for the first four games of the season..an experienced leader in Sharper is gone...and by the Williams Wall being torn down for the start of the season that will leave linebackers like Ben Lieber exposed...you guys might get ran through. Really this is just my thoughts on it, I find all you Vikqueen fans very amusing, specially the ASS that commented "I get defensive when people talk about the vikes!" Like anyone gives a damn....
I give it to you AP is a man, and I like his style...Allen too, but the Bears are due and we will get ours first. -TheGreatChicagoFire

Actually the Vikings haven't finished last since 1990 when they tied at 6-10 with everybody else in the division except the Bears, so no idea where you come up with the "once again finish last" bit. And the last time they finished last by themselves was in 1984. But good try.

May 11, 2009  12:13 PM ET

I see them finishing second. They beat the Bears by one game last year and the Bears have improved more this offseason than they have. With the Pack switching their whole defensive system its gonna take time for them to get set. In reality the Vikes and Bears D weren't that far apart, they gave up the same yards per play, but the Bears were stuck on D for 150 more plays due to an inconsistent offense. 27th in 1st downs. D points were 350-333 in favor of Minnesota, the rest they'll get from having Cutler (#4 in 3rd down completion percentage)is enough to turn that around.

Well, HAPPY F-NG BIRTHDAY! We're happy for you! You really think the first four games will be a problem IF..... IF..... I say IIIIIFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF they get suspended? Well, first, it wont happen. Secondly have you seen the running games of the first 4? Not that intimidating. Anyway, it is always funny reading what the Bears fans say.. Blind faith. Just that typical arrogant punk attitude form the area! I will not argue the Bears absolutely helped them selves this year with Cutler but I have no problem saying your WR's are terrible! The Vikes are slightly better. The Vikes (yea, properly spelled for the morons out there) seem content on an average QB. That will be their only downfall. I do think Sage is decent "enough" to control the game.

The Vikes won the division last year with poor qb play....the first game against the bears was a give away 4 INTS and the special teams td. The bears suck period end of story (their d can't compare to Minnesota's) You bears fans better hope that Olsen and Forte stay healthy because if they don't there is no other weapons for Cutler. Vikes are gonna build on last year and stay on top of this division. AP is all day on the NFC North

Hahaha, I shouldn't expect a Vikings fans to get a joke...I mean, it's bad enough they have been putting up with a joke of a team for some time now, so they should know what jokes look like.

You don't even have your facts straight. The Bears had more receiving yds than Minney last year, yet you want to claim that our receivers are horrible, and yours are slightly better. Be objective, otherwise you just look dumb when you try to trash talk.
