NFL  > Minnesota Vikings  > Sign Brett Farve

Farve is better than anyone on your roster, he took a Jets team that was 4 - 12 two years ago to 9 - 4 last year with a bad defense

They would be Super Bowl contenders with their weapons. They need a good quarterback to get to the next level. They don't have one.

9-4? i didnt know they only played 13 games...

Sorry, I meant 9 - 7.

alright alright, but whats he going to give them. 9-7 again???? certainly not enough to get them in the playoffs against the Pack, and Chicago.

minny does need a qb but farve isn't the answer,

May 5, 2009  04:38 AM ET

If Favre isn't the answer (albeit the temporary one), then who is? Certainly not Frerotte. Childress already made it clear that Tavares Jackson is not either. Why not Favre? He rode a powerful running game and good defense to the NFC title game two years ago. At the very least, they generate buzz and attention for a season that would have ended early due to poor QB play anyway.

Favre is better then any qb on the vikings roster. theres only one problem. hes has no arm. he needs surgery. last 5 games of the season favre blew 2tds and 8 interceptions. hes the reason that the jets didnt make the playoffs. being that i am a bears fan. i can only hope that the vikings sign him. please sign him so i can watch him crash and burn again

IF THE GUY WANTS TO PLAY, IS CAN STILL COMPETE, WHY NOT GIVE HIM THE CHANCE? IT'S NOT LIKE HE NEEDS A RING, ALREADY HAS IT. HE JUST LOVES THE GAME. BESIDES, HE IS BETTER THAN MOST GUYS HALF HIS AGE. LOL. GO BRETT!!!!

No he doesn't love the game. If he did, he wouldn't have been thinking about leaving it for the last 9+ yrs. If he loves it SOOO much, then he would be able to say he's coming back, w/out all this hemming and hawwing. THE FACT IS, HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW HE FEELS ABOUT THE GAME, and that's the problem.

And if he want's to come back, fine, but I don't want him playing for my Vikings. He's not a big game QB anymore (I could make the case he never was) cuz he doesn't play smart, he's relied on his strong arm for too many yrs and now, when its failing him, HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO COMPENSATE.

Think about another guy who didn't know when to hang up the jock. Michael Jordan. Jordan came back and changed his game to account for his declining athleticism. He developed an outside jumpshot, and he developed a fantastic fadeaway jumper when he was no longer quick enough to get separation.

Where has Brett learned the game? Where has he made adjustments? He still makes throws into tight spots cuz he thinks he can gun it in there, and lately, he hasn't, especially when he was injured last yr, HE COULD NOT ADJUST.

In hindsight the Jets probably would have been better with Chad. The Vikes should have tried to sign Leftwich.

Brett Favre deserves to earn a living. Sorry you don't like it. TT and MM made a major mistake in ending his career in Green Bay. Now it will come back to bite them in the tail. Especially if Brett takes the Vikings to the Superbowl. Fire TT and MM, period.

May 9, 2009  08:11 AM ET

How was it a major mistake for the Packers to let Favre go? Aaron Rogers had a great year, and Favre cost the Jets a trip to the play-offs with all his interceptions.

I was a fan of Favre's until last summer, the way he turned on Packers management, going on Fox and trashing the GM. You can't let an over-the-hill superstar run your team, and they were right to let him go. The only reason I'd like to see him play this year would be to watch him further embarrass himself.

Dear Minney,

PLEASE sign Brett Favre.

Chicago Bears Fan.

Sign Brett. Then there will be one less team for the Eagles to worry about in the NFC.
