Vote for your biggest first round bust ever: http://tinyurl.com/cshccm

The real NFL Draft has passed, but April Badness is still here for your enjoyment. We began with 32 first-round busts, and now only two remain. There have been a few surprises, but our top overall seed and champion of the Jim Irsay Region, Ryan Leaf, has taken down every fellow bust in his path. His Final Four opponent -- Tony Mandarich, the last man standing in the Mike Brown Region. On the other side of the bracket, another pair of infamous busts. Representing the Ray Perkins bracket was Lawrence Phillips going against the champion of the Matt Millen Region, Tim Couch.

Who are the lucky two men left? Without further ado, let's get to the results!!

Finals
#1 Leaf vs. #1 Phillips
And then there were two...A repeat offender of violent crimes takes on a repeat offender for being an ****. Well perhaps Phillips falls into both categories, but nonetheless, he will go toe-to-toe with Leaf to decide once and for all who the worst first-round pick of all time is.

Ryan Leaf, QB
School: Washington State
Draft class: Selected second overall in 1998 by San Diego
Drafted after: Peyton Manning
Drafted before: Charles Woodson, Curtis Enis, Fred Taylor, Randy Moss

Lawrence Phillips, RB
School: Nebraska
Draft class: Selected sixth overall in 1996 by the St. Louis Rams
Drafted after: Keyshawn Johnson, Simeon Rice, Jonathan Ogden
Drafted before: Eddie George, Marvin Harrison, Ray Lewis
Key personality trait: Able to make **** Vermeil cry

Although Leaf was a complete Nimrod, I've got to cast a vote for Lawrence Philips. Soooo much potential down the tubes because he couldn't keep it together. Note that he failed in the CFL as well. I'd be stunned if he was even playing in a local men's touch league. Ouch...

What about Browning Naegle - The Remington Rifle - Turned out to be more of a pop gun.

Last I heard, Leaf was a QB coach and men's golf coach as well, at West Texas A&M University He allegedly asked a player for a pain pill, for a lingering injury he had suffered during his NFL playing days, and I believe he resigned because of that.
He was in his 3rd season coaching at the university. He had been under investigation for possible criminal activity, but I don't know how that came out. This was in 08.

Lawrence Phillips is doing 10 years in prison, two years after he was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon. He has been jailed since August 2005, when he drove onto a field near Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and his car struck three boys, ages 14 and 15, and a 19-year-old man, who suffered cuts and bruises. The car narrowly missed four other people. There was more than just this.

My vote..........Phillips, not only as a draft bust, but a waste of human skin. Leaf is just an idiot.

That pretty much covers it. Gotta go with Phillips.

Since we are talking about just the perspective of being the worst first round pick in the NFL, i'm going to have to go with Leaf. What makes him the worst has more to do with Peyton Manning than himself. Atleast Phillips wasnt in a battle with anyone for the number one spot. Some people at that time thought Leaf was better than Peyton. To see what Peyton has done and to look at the little crap Leaf did, makes this whole scenario look horrible.

Isn't it interesting that the San Diego Chargers and the Mannings are always involved in some stuff like this. Peyton and Leaf and recently Eli and Rivers. Atleast it seemed to work out for them better this time.
