NFL  > Minnesota Vikings  > Sign Michael Vick

If the Vikes sign Vick, I don't think they'll win the Super Bowl, but I guarantee they'll sell out every game, home and away.

Hell, even after two years out of the game I'd take Vick over Jackson or Rosenfels. At this point I think I'd run Peterson in the Wildcat every down over those two.

May 10, 2009  02:36 AM ET

Wow I don't like the sound of that. i think Vick should go to the Lions! ha! Go Cowboys

The Vikings suck and always will suck

Sounds like you have some issues and perhaps even an anger management problem, LOL...

Vick is going to shock all non-believers. This upcoming season will be the best of his career, no matter where he goes. I hope that he does go to Minnesota though.

As a bears fan, I SURE HOPE THEY SIGN HIM. He cant spelll defense, let alone read one.

I know, he did a terrible job the season he took the Falcons all the way to the NFC Championship game against the Eagles. Whatever man!

May 10, 2009  11:28 AM ET

And how many games did he lose to piss poor decisions. Tell ya what! Grossman is stil out there and he has a great long ball. Just dont let him throw the out. It usually goes the other way for a score.

What team is going to destroy their fan base with a felon. It would be a franchise worst move. all though the cowboys or raiders dont seem to mind criminals.

May 10, 2009  11:48 AM ET

So that's what it comes down to.
Forget all about moral and ethical issues...as long as it gets you a couple more W's.
It is truly sad what I am reading. Vick should not be allowed to ever play again in the NFL.
You can argue all you want about "he did his time". What he did was horrific, and being paid the amount of money he was, endorsements, most importantly being looked up to as a role model for little kids...Vick is the poster boy for everything you don't want in a leader, or a teammate.
He displayed an incredible amount immaturity, and sub-human like behavior. He had his chance and he blew it. Not to mention the amount of bad publicity any organization that even speaks to him will have to endure. PETA would be a thousand deep on the doorstep of any team stupid enough to consider Vick in any capacity. Not to mention pet loving fans who will not pay hard earned money for ticket prices to go watch a psycho dog murderer.

May 10, 2009  12:01 PM ET

I agree phillyfan5, this guy's a sicko. If I was a G.M. I would never sign him. Hell, if I was Roger Goodell, I wouldn't let him back in the league. The NFL is a privilege and he blew it.

They might win it all...all that speed on that turf...Vick, Berrian, Harvey, don't forget AD...whew...I don't even like thinking about it...Go Bears

HarVIN, lol.

Haha, leave it to the Bears fan to spell 'spell' wrong.

But I do agree with you and Vick's defensive-awareness probably hasn't gotten any better in prison.

I am so sick of jealous hearted, no Christian value having SOB's whinning because they will never the opportunity to make $100M. Michael Vick has the right to the pursuit of happines under the Constitution of The United States, and that right is extended to all who serve their time and are freed.

PETA is a joke, and just like any other so called advocacy group with no "balls" they'll fade out when they realize they are being ignored. PETA has done nothing to ensure that horses don't race when they're too young for their bodies to handle the strain. They haven't done jack SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA to stop cattle raised for beef production from being hit in the friggin head with sledge hammers! Houston has the largest rodeo in the country and PETA is mum about bull riding, "bulldogging", and any other events. Why don't PETA members adopt every dog or cat that ends up in the pound?

Warren Moon was welcomed to Minnesota with open arms, after he was tried in a Texas court for domestic abuse of his wife. Funny thing is that NOW (National Organization of Women) didn't picket the teams headquarters. I guess a woman being beaten isn't as much of an atrocity as dog fighting. While Michael Vick was locked up dog fights have continued around the country, and still will. You have cops, lawyers, judges, and all other types who raise dogs, and bet on these fights. It is as much a Southern traditon as Klan Rallys, The Confedrate Flag, NASCAR, and bass fishing.

Furthermore why was Michael Vick or any athlete for that matter considered a role model? An athlete is just that an athlete! No one should be called a role model because of how money they make, or the fact that they're on TV. A role model is someone who does positive deeds in their community of their own volition. NFL players are required through an agreement with The United Way to perform community service projects on behalf of the NFL. Once Michael Vick or Tom Brady starts a soup kitchen out of their own pocket then you can label them a role model. Athletes and celebrities are held to a higher standard than the rest of us, and the funny part is it's US that does it. Anyone who drives drunk is an idiot athlete or fan. If you read this and get pissed off, then let me humbly and sincerely say.... Get Bent.

Who's jealous? I'm happy and I don't have a $mill.dollars.
Wow, you sound like you might be a clan member yourself. That's f***** up.
Your comparing fighting dogs to the death, and if they happen to survive, but lose, they have the option of being drowned in a bucket of water...or electrocution...to NASCAR, and fishing.
Dude...you need help. Vick was getting paid millions of dollars to play a kids game.
And that's what he chose to do with his free time? Lifetime ban from the NFL...hands down.
And that's being generous.
You kill any cats or dogs lately? They say that's the gateway to eventually moving onto humans.
Maybe Jeffery Dahmer is your idol, you probably have a poster of him in your room with some skulls of small animals you killed to build your memorial shrine of that maniac canibal.

I'm with SilverandBlue on this one. Was what he did bad? No question. Did he pay his debt to society? Yes he did. If every prisoner who gets out of jail isn't allowed to pursue their livelihood then why let them out of jail in the first place? That being said its going to take an owner and coach with a bucketload of balls or stupidity to sign him to their team because of the PR hit they are going to take.
