Derrick Rose was announced Rookie of the Year in 2008-09 season. His Stats :

PPG 16.8, RPG 3.9, APG 6.3, SPG 0.8, BPG 0.2, FG% 0.475, FT% 0.788,

3P% 0.222, MPG 37.0.

He lifted his Chicago Bulls to the First Round of the NBA Playoffs who would be versing the reigning champs Boston Celtics. It was a crazy first round battle that had overtimes, buzzer beaters, and great individual peformances from both teams. But! during the regular nba season, he averaged 37 minutes as a rookie!! 37! although he was a very deserving winner for the award, consider the fact Michael Beasley only had 24 minutes a game as a rookie. Michael Beasley's stats :

PPG 13.9, RPG 5.4, APG 1.0, SPG 0.5, BPG 0.5, FG% 0.472, FT% 0.772,
3P% 0.407, MPG 24.8.

Under the new Rookie Head Coach Erik Spoelstra for the Miami Heat, his time was limited, but in the last month before the playoffs, he produced big numbers and proved why he should of been the #1 pick.

He averaged 20.6 PPG, 8.6 RPG, 1.6 APG, 31.2MPG!!

So the arguement is, If Michael Beasley was a starter for Miami and averaged 30plus minutes, Would the Rookie of the Year award head to Miami!!!
