agreed gmanji...if you look at the oppertunities bradshaw he always takes advantage an is very effective. even though he didnt play much with the jacobs-ward combo he still had a lot of outstanding plays. i think that the giants are high on the rooke andre brown as well and might be competing with ware for the third role. cant wait for the season
Bradshaw is undoubtedly the more explosive athlete with great homerun ability. That being siad has not to this poit proven to be the receiver Ward is and has had ball security issues. That being said he is going into an offseason free of the distractions of 2008 and hopefully he can correct these issues in his game. If he does I don't see why this wouldn't be an upgrade over the Jacobs/ward 1-2 Punch.

I agree with big blue... I laughed after the superbowl year when people started wearing bradshaw jerseys. Has there ever been such a popular 3rd stringer before??? he is explosive but ward was extremely prodcutive and versitile. Bradshaw has much bigger shoes to fill than what people think. He was instrumental in the buffalo game and through the playoffs of 2007... but is he really going to be the versitile player that will replace Ward? I think Ware has a better fit and they will still use bradshaw as a closer at the end of the game (if the giants are winning). Dont get hyped into Bradshaw... hes a third RB.

I agree that its gong to be interesting to see Bradshaw in a bigger role. I like his style of running and I liken him to a smaller Marion Barber. When Barber was behind Julius Jones everyone wanted to see him get the ball more. Then when he did, that style got him hurt. I hope that Ware or the Rookie Davis we drafted can step up and fill the role of Ward. I'd like to see Bradshaw get a few more touches, but not too too many. I hope he proves me wrong and lights up the world with 20 carries a game. Jacobs is a monster and while the D's bell is still ringing let Ahmad run right past them.
Superman, I happen to be one of those people who has a bradshaw jersey, and it's for good reason. Bradshaw is lightning quick and can run right around people. Every chance he touches the ball there is potential to break it for a long gain. Both Jacobs and Ward couldn't match his explosiveness. The reason people aren't high up on him or doubt him is because of the amount he touched the ball last year. For whatever reason the coaching staff decided to stick with jacobs and ward for the large majority of carries. Bradshaw barely touched the ball last season, and I think that's a mistake.
Bradshaw had 5.3 yards per carry and 8.4 years per catch last year; most teams would settle for that kind of production out of their #1 back. Bradshaw will be a key part of the offense as soon as he gets more touches, perhaps be the next Tiki Barber.

Im not poking fun at thse who spent the money on his jersey. I am just saying he is the most popular 3rd sting player I can think of. Would anyone by a giants jersey with Carr on it???
Also, you could be right on why people dont think much of him. maybe he could be a breakaway RB even if Jacobs and Ward didnt pound the defense first. One could make the argument that his stats are high because of lack of carries and because of how Jacobs and Ward wore down defenses. But lets suppose your right and I am wrong... you said "For whatever reason the coaching staff decided to stick with jacobs and ward for the large majority of carries". They obviously felt that way for a reason. Thats why they are coaches and we are fans. As a fan... I hope that Bradshaw can continue his success when he is in and maybe as a no 2 back. We will see!!!

After what he did during the Superbowl run in the 07 season, and how he gracefully handled obscurity in 08, how can you not give Bradshaw the benefit of the doubt or root for him. The guy is a gifted humble athlete who has a lot to bring to the table, sure he has a ball handling problem but so did tiki until Tommy C got his hands on him. I am very confident in his ability to step up and fill wards shoes, and he may even surprise and be comparable to Jacobs in terms of production

Everyones points here are valid but they are also "maybe's" and "what if's". All I am saying is dont get too high on him. I liked Ward and I felt that he did not get a lot of credit in the 07. before he got hurt he was leading the league in rushing!!! I dont think bradshaw is the same back. Ware is. Ward was extremely productive on his own with or without jacobs. Bradshaw would not be as good if it werent for how they used him (in the 4th qtr) and because of that o line. I hear all of your points. I hope you are right. I just feel that he is still the 3rd string back and he does not replace wards production.

Dude, Bradshaw is the man. Now Tiki was great, but Bradshaw has that "other" level Tiki never did, and in about 2 years when Jacobs will eventually begin to whither, unfortunately, Bradshaw will be waiting in the wings.
At least that is my wishful thinking.

Like I said... as a fan of the Giants I hope you are right. As a student of football... I just dont see Bradshaw as the next big thing. Personally, i think that Jacobs will be better than Tiki and many others. The way he has learned to lower his center when he runs but still be a bruiser. If he stays healthy, Jacobs will change what teams look for in a back.
