Canes' Walker fined for punching Bruins' Ward but not suspended. He broke the orbital bone with that haymaker. A week earlier, Donald Brashear checks Blair Betts of the Rangers breaks his orbital bone and gets suspended 6 games. I am not saying Brashear didnt deserve a couple of games off as Betts never saw him coming, but checking is part of the actual game whereas fighting supposedly is ancillary. This is why the NHL wont ever be considered a major sport - Bettman is a joke.
