NFL  > Pittsburgh Steelers  > harrison not going to the white house! good for him
May 17, 2009, 12:00 AM
i think james harrison is the bomb for saying **** to obama. i am a huge steeler fan but i cant believe they sold out to ole big ears! i love the rooneys but because they are so liberal, i not sure anymore. (by the way, i dont dislike the color of the so-called pres. just hate his pro ****, pro anti-military...and so on). i really love tomlin and his coaching style so color is not a factor. by the way, it is a black player doing this, not a white one. so salute to you james for sticking it to the man!

what was fuzzed out was basicly kiss my butt. and the second fuzz out was another word for queer, gay, ****... you get the drift.

I dont think it has anything to do with Obama. Harrison turned down going to the white house a couple years ago while Bush was in office, too.

May 18, 2009  06:45 PM ET

pro anti-military?

Really? The why is it we are getting 16 billion more than last years budget? Why is he trying to fight to keep our 3.4 pay raise going when congress wants it only to be 2.6?

You need to get your facts straight. Not to mention his reasoning is ridiculously hypocritical.

I wouldnt go see the socialist nobama either

May 18, 2009  11:18 PM ET

The gay judge who asked Ms. California that gay question should go meet with the flip-flop at the White House... not Steelers...

Are we talking football or politics?

May 19, 2009  12:10 PM ET

That made less sense than Harrison's argument.

Why can't dumb rednecks get over the fact that McCain lost? It's over. By the way, the north also won the civil war. Some people still haven't gotten that either. Are some of you so dumb that you don't even realize it was a republican that got us into the mess that we're currently in? Also, this is a sports website so why are people bringing up politics anyways?

May 19, 2009  04:23 PM ET

big ole ears? Thats totally racist! Did you know how big our last president's ears were?

May 20, 2009  02:24 AM ET

Anyone that listened to that interview...Steeler fan or not....should have came away with the same thought...."THAT HAS GOT TO BE THE STUPIDEST REASONING I EVER HEARD!!!". The champions of most major sports leagues go to the White House. To say that the Cards would have went had they won is like saying the sun will come out tomorrow. I wont assume I know his real reasons for not going or whether he truly believes in the reason he gave, but he made himself look ignorant to alot of people, and a very disrespectful man.

I wont get into all the Obama stuff. I voted for him. He's my president, and regardless of what you think of him....he is your president too. Nothing about this has to do with him or the fact that Harrison is black. Has everything to do with Harrison and his choice, and it is exactly that....his choice. Cant fault him for his decision.

May 20, 2009  07:45 AM ET

First of all, can we talk a little football and leave your political party hats on the shelf. I mean come on, you can't mix football and politics ( it's in the **** rule book). Secondly why can't we just take Harrison's word for it; it's just not a big deal to him. As long as he keeps on putting up 16 sack seasons, I could carless who he sees or doesn't see.

May 21, 2009  03:06 AM ET

Soopa....I can agree with that. Pushing this as a political issue is stupid. His reasoning, whether he truly felt that way or not...is just as stupid.
