The A's Eric Chavez's injury has been career threatening. This leaves the A's needing a long-term third baseman and has led to many rumors. One rumor I heard today involved former Oakland farmhand, Mark Teahen. Supposedly, The A's and Royals could send the thirdbaseman back to Oakland in exchange for Lefthanded starter Dallas Braden and Centerfielder Ryan Sweeney. Braden gives the Royals the young left hander that it has desired. He's 25 and is 3-5 with a 3.65 ERA so far. Sweeney would also provide some depth in the outfield, serving as the fifth outfielder behind Mitch Maeir. This would allow Willie Bloomquist to become the primary utility infielder.

The NEW Royals rotation could then look something like this:

1. Zac Greinke R 25 yrs old, 7-1, 0.60 ERA
2. Gil Meche R 30 yrs old, 2-4, 4.60 ERA
3. Brian Bannister - R 28 yrs old, 3-1, 1.80 ERA
4. Dallas Braden - L 25 yrs old, 3-5, 3.65 ERA
5. Kyle Davies R 25 yrs old, 2-2, 5.01 ERA

Omaha AAA - Luke Hochevar (former first overall draft pick)

What do you think? Any truth to this?
