NFL  > New England Patriots  > Young Blood in PATS D - What's your guess?
May 20, 2009, 10:48 AM
What'sl the newer and younger D going to give us this year?

Consider Mayo's brilliant start and his unrelentless dedication to greatness, Merriwether's coming of age and growing confidence, Wheately's & Wilhite's occaisional glimpses of talent as rookies.

Then look at Crable, Guyton & Woods maturing. Add the arrival of Chung, Brace & Butler to name a few more...What I see are signs that there's a great aggressive positive wind blowing in Foxboro. There's fire and desire. There's competition and opportunity for any and all of them to take it to the next level - NE's Defense may soon be top 3 good again.

Here are a few of my questions about your predictions as to how it unfurls:

Who do you think will make the greatest strides this year, i.e., become real difference makers? How will each contribute and who do you think will be keepers? How will they mesh with starting Pats veterans and where do the new FA's vying for starting roles fit in the big picture by the post season?
Who end up starters & when?

Anxious for your opinions..
