NFL  > Cleveland Browns  > D starting to take shape
June 1, 2009, 02:03 AM
Very quietly Mangini has given the Browns a complete makeover on the defensive side. He's got ex-Jets running right down the middle, Kenyon Coleman at defensive end, Eric Barton at linebacker, and Abram Elam at safety. And right next to those players are some real talent, Shaun Rogers at nose tackle, D'Kwell Jackson at the other inside backer position, and Brodney Poole at Safety. Throw in Corey Williams at the other end and that is the center of the Browns defense. Improvement is by no means a given but I like the odds.

On the perimeter, starting corners Wright and McDonald are joined by two veterans (Hood and Poteat) and two rookies. On numbers at least we're golden.

There's still a question of of the outside backers but if all the action is being forced their way, I'll take it.
