NBA  > General NBA  > Lebron will not leaving CLEVELAND and here is why
June 1, 2009, 05:10 PM
I want to start of by saying i am not a homer or even a CLE fan. I guess i am a James fan but i can name at least 5 current players in the league i like more than him

Lebron is smart, if he wants 2 be remembered like Mike or Magic or Bird, he knows he has to take his team to the Top. It took Michael 7 years to take. Bird and Magic won earlier in there careers but had HOF around them (Kareem, McHale, Parrish).

It is not as if people do not pay attention to him or the media ignores him bcuz he is in small market. He has every endorsement deal possible. He is loved by the fans. He is an Ohio native. I seriously doubt any team can offer him something that he already does not have or can get while staying in CLE.

The only way he leaves CLE is if CLE drops the ball in getting player around him. This offseason, i would not be surprised if they sacrifice 1 or 2 future first round picks for a chance to win rite now. I personally would like to see Shaq in a Cav uni but with his price tag that seems unlikely. Someone like a Redd will be gr8 for CLE. He gives them a solid SG and scoring threat. If CLE sits on there hands and hope James can carry them to the TOP alone, then and only then will Lebron leave.

That being said, Cleveland will offer him the max allowed under CAP rules. CLE sells out every game anyways so they do not have trouble with cash flow in the short term. Anything with Lebrons face sells in CLE and around the world. Even if they have to pay him $30 or 40 for the next 15 years, he is worth the investment. He probably generates double in merchandise + ticket sales every year.
