NFL  > Washington Redskins  > Dan Snyder- Savior of American Football
June 2, 2009, 03:19 PM
With an unorthodox ownership strategy, Dan Snyder blazes a new path in team ownership. Learning from past mistakes, he is going with his gut and doing what I believe will guarantee an NFL championship within the next two seasons. Hiring friends, getting rid of talented fan-favorites, signing big name has-beens for outrageous amounts of money, and his innovative micromanagement methods will undoubtedly land Mr. Snyder in the NFL ownership hall of fame. I also applaud his cycling through coaches, giving everyone the shot they deserve at coaching an NFL team.

Dan Snyder is a blessing to all of us Redskins fans. I love you Dan Snyder.

Good one. I laughed as hard as you did when you wrote this.

Well thanks, at least somebody did. I thought that was an eye-catching header but I guess not. GO 'SKINS!!!111111111118rft87ff

How many years in a row have they been dead last in the bEast?

June 3, 2009  06:31 PM ET

1 year in a row.

June 4, 2009  02:51 PM ET

Laffin.......good one. You aren't being sarcastic, are ya? You should see some of mine about Uncle Jerry.

Not counting the SB's the 'Boys won in the 90's, I wonder who will be the first between the Skins and the Boys to get one?

But, that wouldn't be fair. Jerry Jones will be dead long before Snyder.

Oh well.

Blah blah blah...havent we heard this story before? And year and year again the Deadskins do nothing but eat food off the bottom.

You know, whether a team is a bottom feeder, or a contender, not making the playoffs amounts to about the same thing...........nothing.

Until the 'Boys can stop the drought and win a playoff game, then are they any better than a bottom feeder?

Just a thought.

June 4, 2009  11:18 PM ET

I don't really think either of us can brag about our teams right about now so let's just hope for the best.

June 5, 2009  08:00 AM ET

Used to really hate the boys, in the 90's, but let's face it, if you were not a Boys fan then, you probably did too! But the team I think we can both agree to beat is the Birds!! The G-Men are always tough regardless, even when they're having a down year!! And being as the NFC Beast is the toughest div in NFC, even going 500 isn't easy!!! You think the Cards would've made playoffs last year if they were still in the east???

June 5, 2009  11:31 AM ET

The Skins are in the tank until they can get their QB situation figured out.

I've been a 'Boys fan for over 40 years. However, with that being said, I've been a football fan for just as long. I watch all of the teams when I can, and enjoy it for what it is. There's only one team I really care nothing about, and that's New England, and that's because of their coach and "Cheatgate" mainly.

When the Giants beat NE in the SB, it was almost as good for me as if the 'Boys had won.......lol........The Eagles are much improved this coming year, but McNabb is getting old tho, so whether he can play at a high level, or be injury free, remains to be seen.

The Cardinals would never had made the playoffs if they had remained in the NFC East. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. They would have been the bottom feeders there for sure.

The division they are in now, sucks canal water, with San Fran, Seattle, and the Rams all sucking. Someone had to come out of that division with at least an 8-8 record. Theirs was...what? 9-7?....Wonder what would have happened if all 4 teams had a losing record........Can you imagine winning the division with, say, a 6-10 record?.........lol

The Skins are in the tank because of their owner. They tried doing a "MacDaniels" to Campbell much like what happened in Denver with Cutler. Maybe Campbell isn't the answer, but he sure has beat us a few times. Comparing Campbell to some of the ones we've had, like Quincy Carter, Hutchinson, Henson, etc.........Campbell would win hands down.

Jim Zorn, being a former QB, should know if Campbell can continue developing. But, then I wouldn't know much, because I don't follow the team much as I do the 'Boys.

June 5, 2009  12:28 PM ET

Hey 'skins...........I just realized I'm hogging your blog...........my apologies, man. I get carried away sometimes, especially when I'm bored out of my skull.................lol

June 5, 2009  12:48 PM ET

No worries man, and you're right- the Redskins are screwed because Dan Snyder is a billionaire who decided to play fantasy football, except with an actual NFL team.

Dan Snyder sucks at fantasy football!

Well, I suppose it could always be worse, ya know.

Would you trade him for........Wm Clay Ford of the Lions?..or Lerner of the Browns?...York of the $4.99ers? Or, God forbid, Bidwell of the Cardinals?

Snyder wants to win, like Jones, but sometimes, the things they do and/or say, makes me wonder about their sanity........lol

June 6, 2009  09:44 AM ET

Yeah, it could be worse. Not much worse, though.

Hang in there, man. Our rivalries will continue, if nothing else. We can always beat each other up, for sure, even if nothing else improves, right?

June 6, 2009  09:54 PM ET

In the meantime, watch other teams and enjoy the game for what it is. There is enjoyment in that too.

He is now history as of yesterday. BuckAye and company (of the Browns) managed to get Fan Nation to censor him, removing all of his posts from every blog he commented on. That's why you're seeing all of these old posts from months ago re appearing.

Whether he stays away remains to be seen. But, I'm sure they have his ISP address, and can keep him out, unless he gets a new ISP somehow and name. BUt, for the moment, he's gone.
