Why what? The Steelers might repeat or what? Very possible, but there are 31 other teams gonna TRY to keep that from happening, ya know............lol

Well, let me rephrase that.............maybe 17 teams of the remaining 31. The rest likely won't make the playoffs.

June 4, 2009  01:03 PM ET

Have to agree with the previous commenter. Why what? And trust me when I say, I'm as die hard a Steeler fan as there is.

June 4, 2009  04:20 PM ET

LOL, and I have to agree with the previous commenter. I friggin love the Steelers, but have no idea what you are trying to get at?

The fact that anything is possible in the nfl was made very clear last season. I'm sure you all remember reading the experts one year ago talking about a Patriot/Cowboys Superbowl as if it was a foregone conclusion. Neither team made the playoffs, and the number of "experts" who had the Cardinals winning the NFC? Yeah none, that's how I remember it too. Who know's maybe the Lions will be the surprise this year, Lions/Bills Superbowl? We will win #7, I don't know if it will be this year but we will.

I didn't hear ANYONE say anything like that last season. The Cowboys were (are) a drama festival and hadn't won a playoff game in 400 years, and the Pats were Brady-less. Whoever said that crap was delusional.

The 'Boys will win #6 eventually...........lol.....it might be after Stephen Jones inherits the team, but we will.

I mean, you know, after 400 years, we'd have to be due.................lol

The 'Boys were predicted to go all the way in 07, if I remember correctly. I wish these experts would quit with their predictions tho. Just pisses every other team off.

Does not this person have a right to his opinion, even if it's incomplete?

Besides, I see no prediction of any kind, of any of the comments above yours. Say what you wish, but the Steelers do have it going on, and they very well could repeat this coming year.I'd much rather see them in the SB than New England. In fact, I'd rather see anyone other than NE.

Of course, if I had my druthers, the 'Boys would be in it every year, but being realistic, I know that's impossible. We have a lot of proving to do first.

What about the Lions and the Raiders?....or whoever happened to be the red headed step children this year........lol.............wouldn't that be something?

Wonder if the NFL ever thought of having a "Loser's Bowl" after the Pro Bowl, for the two worst teams to battle it out for the number 1 pick in the draft?....................laffin

obviously the original post's underlying question is "Why are the Steelers the best team in Football"?

Yes, but he didn't say it, and left it up for speculation as you can see.

one year ago, the Pats still had Brady

June 5, 2009  05:22 PM ET

I see the Steelers still as the best team in the AFC. So seeing them in the Super Bowl again would not surprise me.

Patriots everyone picks them all the time but you know what? Having a defense as old as the cavemen is catching up with them. Brady I have a big question mark about with his injury and how effective he will be.

Chargers have Norv 'The Master of the Choke' Turner as their coach. Look at the franchises he has ran as a coach. They get worse every year. If Denver did not lay the biggest egg in NFL history Denver would have been in the playoffs. That is not saying much.

Titans came out strong last year but repeating I do not see happening.

Colts new coaching staff, Peyton is thrown a loop and minus one of his best receivers.

Ravens, Rex Ryan took a good chunk of the D and their second year QB is mostly now not having one of the best Ds in the game helping him.

Really who is going to stop the Steelers in the AFC?

NFC? Won't be the Cowboys they have not won a playoff game in 13 soon to be 14 years.
Eagles lost half their offense with Westbrook in surgery. Green Bay maybe, Rogers could do well. Chicago, will they be able to work with a run and gun QB? Arizona, that was a once in a franchise appearance. San Fransisco, what QB? Atlanta may be the only team to worry about there and even then I would not worry too much. Saints, Brees is playing amazing but Saints have do decent Defense.

Steelers have a shot to do it.

There's one flaw in your remarks. No one has yet played a game..............lol

Yogi Berra said "Baseball is 90% mental -- the other half is physical." Yes, I know it's silly, but it can pertain to football if you understand the quote and what it was supposed to mean.

Not only is football physical, but mentality plays a large part in the outcome of a game or season as well. Note the 07 Dolphins........1-11, and in one year, they win their division with a record of 11-5 I think it was? A change of attitude maybe? I bet the Lions will win at least one game this year.

The Steelers, of course, should be favored to win. But, it will be tough. I think you should take into consideration of a team's desire and attitude, coaching, and other things. Baltimore will be playing hard, as will most of the teams. Some are more talented than others, and will win more games. But, that goes without saying.

All of these so called experts predict how this very unpredictable sport will go, every year. It's really only food for thought, and one opinion against another.

Are you positive the Cowboys won't make the playoffs? Maybe they won't, but I believe you will see a different team and attitude this year. All of the teams are out to prove something. Some won't be able to for the fact they don't have the right resources. And injuries can also determine which way a team can head as well. Westbrook, for instance, may be replaced by someone who may otherwise never had been given a chance, and turn out to keep the job. Did anyone foresee Tashard Choice and how well he and Orlando Scandrick played last year? One never knows when the next Walter Payton or Dick Butkus comes from.

You have the right to what you think will happen, but there's nothing laid in concrete. That's what makes football fun.........l

wow you're a LOT smarter than Art and Lumber... how much would you charge to give them lessons on how to post really well thought out posts in message boards? Nice post!

We now have a Tiger Tiger Woods to contend with, at least with the Cowboys. Some cow pasture pool playing idiot with an attitude, to join such luminaries as you mentioned.

So, beware of this clown. He's easy to confuse with facts tho, and when he is confused, he resorts to insults. Not sure whether he'll be making the rounds yet.

lol

To give my opinion to the question about the better coach, Cowher is a good coach, no doubt. But, I think Tomlin will be even better. He's younger, and already is successful. Time will tell tho.

Bull Shirt is a creepy old guy!

Did you pick up the use of lol when you were stalking little boys in chat rooms? You sure do use it a lot.

Funny how I mix up the name of an owner who sold the team before I was born with someone else and you freak out. With that being said, how does that disprove what I was saying in the first place? The fact remains the same, the only way Jerry could buy the team was if he agreed to fire Landry.

Hey here is some advice to get rid of that pesky virginity thing you are struggling with. LEAVE YOUR COMPUTER FOR MORE THAN 5 MINUTES.

Bull Shirt, a true 40 Year Old Virgin.
