Tennis  > Womens Tennis  > All screams, crushing the ball, lack fnesse

I don't believe I'm the only one who thinks women's tennis is getting so boring to watch. It would appear one needs to be tall, hits the ball really hard from the baseline or, about once a year, approahc the net and crushes the ball w/a swinging volley to be competitive in professional women tennis.

When I saw a Chinese player hit a drop shot from mid court against Ana Ivanovic at last year's Wimbledon, I was so delighted and shocked! What! said I, a pro woman tennis player who also can execute a drop shot during a tense singles match! It turned otu she's only competitive on the doubles circuit, no wonder.

The various tennic schools and academy (Nick Bolletieri in Florida springs to mind immediately) are turning out female drones who crushes the ball while screaming from the baseline while not developing any personality, finesse, or variety. As a recreational player, I find watching women's tennis extreeeeeeemely boring; therefore I don't anymore. I much prefer watching men's, and doubles, and golf.
