NFL  > General NFL  > Vegas has spoken: Odds are in for Superbowl 2009
June 9, 2009, 06:40 PM
Oddsmakers just released the odds for the Superbowl 2009 (www.thespread.com).

The top 13 are as follows (* indicates playoff teams last season):

New England Patriots 9/2
Pittsburgh Steelers 9/1 *
New York Giants 10/1 *
Indianapolis Colts 12/1 *
Dallas Cowboys 14/1
Philadelphia Eagles 14/1 *
San Diego Chargers 14/1 *
Minnesota Vikings 16/1 *
Baltimore Ravens 20/1 *
Carolina Panthers 20/1 *
Chicago Bears 20/1
New Orleans Saints 20/1
Tennessee Titans 20/1 *

Of the 12 teams to make the playoffs last year, the Cardinals (22/1), Falcons (22/1) and Dolphins (45/1) do not make the top 13 list.

Non-playoff teams of last season in the top 13 list are the Patriots with Brady back on board, the Cowboys of course (as I have tirelessly postulated here and elsewhere), and just barely squeeking in, the Bears and Saints.

If you're looking for a really big payday, the Lions at 150/1 promise the highest returns.

Any surprises?
