NFL  > New England Patriots  > Vick to Patriots? Not in my Neighborhood!!!
June 13, 2009, 02:06 PM
Can the media stop placing that dog fighter in with the Pats. Its not going to happen he would just be a big media circus and a major distraction.

If any team is going to take him ,look at the team of second chances the Cincy Bengals.

what vick had a freaking death camp for dogs!!

his buddys would go out and steal little dogs and break there hips so they could be bait for the bigger dogs

stallworth didnt plan on hiting a guy with his car

June 13, 2009  06:02 PM ET

Patriots don't want him, never have and never will...

btw, the dogs were savage because Vick trained them to be that way, and then discarded them like garbage when they became useless to him....

I don't condone drinking and driving, but Stallworth didn't buy people and put them in the street so he could run the down....

June 13, 2009  09:55 PM ET

But when did dog become more inportant than people ? Ask the family of the people that Leonard Little killed their mom in a DUI accident , and then got a DUI the next week this needs more publicity than vick but how many people heard about that.

June 13, 2009  10:59 PM ET

vick was wrong - but he has a right to work, did not kill any humans, and he has served his time ..... he deserves a second chance like anyone else,,,,, even those drunk driver killers get treated better than Vick,,,,, by the way, ask the mother of a child that was torn to bits by one of those pit bulls what she thinks !!! got to a horrible experience...

It was people like Vick that trained those pit bulls that attacked that child you speak of. People like Vick train these dogs to fight and kill and then when one escapes the confines of it's owner it does or acts the way it was raised and taught to act, and this is the pit bulls fault how? The pit bull that acts the way it was taught gets no second chance if it attacks someone it gets put down period.

According to Commissioner Goodell: "It is important that the NFL be represented consistently by outstanding people, We hold ourselves to higher standards of responsible conduct because of what it means to be part of the National Football League."
If Vick is this outstanding person who has higher standards, I sure would hate to see lower standards.
Vick has paid his debt to society and has every right to earn a living, but has he earned the right to make that living in the NFL, to earn millions of dollars, and be some young boy or girls hero and roll model?
The sad truth is if Goodell reinstates Vick he is essentially saying short of a Life sentence in prison or the Death penalty any Athlete who still has some talent can and will play in the NFL.

vicks not showing up in ne

June 19, 2009  01:58 PM ET

no way in NE. Fans in NE were skeptical of Moss, and he could still play. Vick's just really not all that good.... also in regards to others with questionable pasts, it's one thing to make a mistake in life, have a hot tempered moment, make a poor decision - another to build an organization devoted to a criminal act...

June 19, 2009  04:31 PM ET

No criminals - I see - its Ok to try and steal another teams signals and to film a teams final walk thru before the super bowl, and use illegal defense ( holding marshal faulk the entire game as stated by your linebacker after the game in an interview)

new england is such a good clean fair playing organization -- GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!

June 19, 2009  06:00 PM ET

Vick did his time...And thats that... Ya he's an idiot.. Ya he's a punk.. I love dogs as much as many..But he did his time..This goes to show you how much humans care about each other...People are quick to wear an Al Capone shirt when he killed people but killing dogs can get someone to hate a person..NO I think its horrible, disspicable very disrespectful to the NFL as well to his fans..But everyone should get a 2nd chance...Its ok for Kobe to cheat on his wife. NO!!.Everyone gave him a 2nd chance and most love him still..I dint like him...but i respect his ball skill..Ya I know its totally different situation but ,I do feel what most of you are saying...Give him a chance if he cant get it together throw the peace sign up and let him ruin his life to the fullest..He already knows he's hated by many and that might not change..So letting him back in the league wouldnt hurt..He learned his lesson hopefully!!!! I believe he should have been in jail longer, but it is what it is...Right?

Wow.

Walk through- never happened the stories that were in the paper that broke the story retracted. The guy that said he had something on it lied.

Breaking the rules in game (holding) and getting caught for it (they did) is how games are played. Have you EVER watched? THAT'S WHY THEY HAVE FLAGS.

Since you're focusing on '01 I'll go out on a limb and say you're a Rams fan. Cry into your soup some more. You lost. The Patriots went on to win a couple more Superbowls and almost a fourth. You were never a dynasty. You were a blip on the Radar of life.

July 6, 2009  05:52 PM ET

Given my handle its a no brainer where I stand on Vick but there is a greater issue here. Killing loving animals and yes, even pit bulls are loving until taught not to be,...being that kind of cruel has to be in a persons DNA. Sorry folks but killing living creatures for for the joy in watching them savage themselves has to come down under the heading of deviant behavior. Yes he's done his time and now he's no longer in jail. But sorry....this is no fit companion for civilized people and certainly no role model for kids growing up...I mean really, "hey let's have some fun and go out a torture an animal?" Not on my team!

Beyond the whole N.E. are a bunch of cheaters and Vick/dog controversy, MVick just does not fit on the Patriots today or in the way the develop their players/team. Obviously, Vick won't replace Brady and never could. QB at NE requires patience, good reads and a HUGE football IQ. Vick simply doesn't fit that profile. Amazing athlete but he won't fit with the other ten players on the field. So bring him in as a backup? Just as they groomed Cassel to someday be ready to replace Brady, now they will groom O'Connell. By the time Brady is ready to retire, O'Connell will be ready. Vick? He's can't be groomed to play a style so totally opposite of who he is AND even if he could...he'd be too old when the time came to replace Brady. Not sure which team he lands with (and he will) but I'd be surprised if it were the Pats.

Brady is going to suck this year.
He hasn't played football in a year, is less mobile now than he ever was (which basically makes him Bledsoe Jr.)
He's too busy clothes shopping with his girlfriend anyway.
Speaking of higher standards...Brady is a guy who got his former girlfriend pregnant, then left her. Talk about a dead beat dad.
Anyways...the blueprint is out on him, just send the blitz, and he pouts when his jersey gets dirty.
I hope Brady blows out his knee again, and they do sign Vick.
That would be comical.
Then it would be like before 2001 when nobody went to the Patriot games cause they sucked.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
