Indiana Pacers Fan Group  > Pacers Message Board  > With the 13th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft the Indiana Pacers select....

I have been scowering mock drafts and message boards looking for a realistic outcome to who it is the Pacers will draft. I have heard Brandon Jennings, Jeff Teague, Jonny Flynn, Earl Clark, DeJuan Blair, etc. None of which are the name that I want to hear...am I the only one that sees a ton of potential in Austin Daye of Gonzaga? I realize that he is a bit thin at 6'10 and 195 pounds and because of this durability could be a concern. However, his unlimited shooting range and finesse post game would be a great asset to O'Brien's run and gun scheme. He could play mainly at 4 and because of his agility and shooting stroke, he could lend a hand now and then at SF. I realize that offense was not our problem last season and that many are looking for a tough inside force but frankly, after the Top 10, that type of guy won't be around. Daye likely would not start on day one and could take time to develop but if and when he does, he could be quite the weapon.
