"If Drew Bledsoe didn???t get injured then nobody would even have known of this second rate QB."
Bledsoe didn't get injured (he did in New England and Brady took over, but I don't think anyone would call Tom Brady a 2nd rate QB), he was wildy ineffective and he threw an interception at the end of the game against the Redskins and a mind numbing, WTF throw, at the end of the 1/2 against the Giants.
"That was the night the Dallas Cowboys got so embarrassed on national television by the New Orleans Saints."
The whole team played badly, not just Romo. I'm sure you recall that the Saints were just downing the ball to kill the clock with several minutes to go. It was quite embarrassing, but that was a Saints team that went to the NFC championship game, so they weren't horrible. But the whole team played poorly which was dumbfounding considering that Parcells was still the head coach.
"Last season they made it to playoffs, instead of putting his head down to the X???s and O???s he went to Mexico to blow off a little steam with his hottie. Well, his trip to Mexico cost the Cowboys the game. "
Who else went to Cabo? Answer, Jason Witten and Bobby Carpenter. They watched football, threw the ball around, and relaxed per the direction of Wade. Sure there was a media hubbub about it, but I don't think it was Tony's fault that the offensive line was like a "siv" with Giant D-lineman just running through them in the 2nd 1/2. It's not Tony's fault that after a demoralizing 10+ minute drive, the defense gave up 70 yards in 54 seconds. It's also not his fault that in the first Giant TD, 4 people missed the tackle on Toomer, (Henry, Ellis, Williams (with a bad angle) let alone, the penalty that prolonged that drive when they otherwise would have punted. While we are at it, how about Crayton dropping the ball that would at least have been a first down, and possibly a TD. Maybe Romo should have thrown it with more touch.
I rewatch that game with such pain that they just gave the game away. Sure the Giants played tough, but that was easily one of the worst games I have seen that team play all year. There was one mistake that I place solely on the shoulders of Tony, and that is when he threw the ball away and was called for intentional grounding. It's the only flaw I can see.
"As I see it he might be with the team another 2 or 3 years than he will he gone if he doesn???t produce Superbowl game."
Grammar, it's important.
"IT???S TIME FOR A FRESH START!"
I hear when you are feeling not so fresh, you should go out and buy some Massengil. I think that would be ideal for you.
You're an idiot. Your time frames aren't even correct.
"If Drew Bledsoe didn't get injured......".....As JD said, Bledsoe was not injured. He was playing like a schoolgirl....
"Last season they made it to playoffs, instead of putting his head down to the X???s and O???s he went to Mexico to blow off a little steam with his hottie.".....His trip was approved by the coach and Jones....and this was in 07, not 08. Geeeze, get your facts straight. I'd bet you'd love to have his "hottie".
"As I see it he might be with the team another 2 or 3 years than he will he gone if he doesn't produce Superbowl game."....Who died and left you in charge of personnel decisions anyway?
I think what you need to do is change allegiances to another team. But, with that being said, I highly doubt you're a Cowboy fan. Your knowledge leaves a lot to be desired.
Romo gets the credit for wins and the blame for losses...which, in reality, both are unfair.
Tony has made this team matter again...lest we go back beyond Bledsoe and discuss Testaverde and Carter....ugh!
Romo has some big wins under his belt and has led this team from behind in many games...anyone who brings up the Giants playoff loss is a sorely misinformed fan.
I have said it before and I will say it again...playcalling and passblocking are what this team needs in their wins.
If Tony is pressured, he doesnt protect the ball well and/or forces bad passes, leading to turnovers...plus the kid got beat to hell last season with the injury in Zona, the back against NY and then reinjured again vs Philly.
Garrett's playcalling has been predictable at times and hopefully this team will balance out a bit more and lean on one of those 3 stud backs they have in the backfield.

Not to mention that Kyle Kosier was out for the majority of the year, and Proctor was playing. There's a reason Proctor is a back up right now. He may eventually get a starting job, but last year he was forced into it and although he may have played well considering, he's not Kosier. Kosier also kept Adams "in line", for lack of a better word.
If the injury bug don't hit us like it did last year, I think we'll see a much improved team, and that should shut these haters up, at least some anyhow.
JD and Jeff.....you guys ever notice that we are always having to say the same thing day in and day out to all of the people like this guy?
I am not worry about Romo as much as the Boy's secondary.
Romo is the best in the league when he has protection and/or is able to move outside the pocket. A Romo-Witten combination will be key to success; not with receivers. Watch for more short-pass screens to Marion, Witten, and Jones. Witten will have more receptions that all receivers. Sorry to say that T.O (THE CANCER) absence will create problems to open up the field. If Roy Williams becomes a deep threat, then it would be wise to get THE CANCER out of here. Too bad it wasn't foot-in-mouth disease. That way he would shut up. Either way, good riddance.
i agree... romo gets too much blame in loses and too much credit in some wins. he is the best QB dallas has had since aikman, but then again we have had NO talent in this position since aikman so i'm not so sure that says a lot. i'm pulling for romo to have a break out yr this season. he will be under pressure to produce and i hope he can - there are still a few excuses to use if they don't have a good season, but i'd hate to be in his shoes if i had to use them. romo needs wins in dec/jan this season and i think he will get some. he doesn't have to get to the superbowl, just show some skills in the playoffs and get us some playoff wins!

Yep. It's amazing how people expect SO much more from him. If you just consider that he was an undrafted free agent, playing in the NFL is such an accomplishment. But to be a multiple pro-bowler (and multiple is the key considering that Gus Ferotte was a pro-bowler because people kept dropping out), and to be a top passer in the league. Dallas fans are apparently quite disillusioned about what success is. Sure Staubach and Aikman set the bar high, but it's just ignorant and myopic to not give credance to someone unless they have won a Super Bowl. Poor Dan Marino, who was being considered when Jim Jeffcoat was drafted would have been surrounded by mediocre players in the 80's, but I'm going off on a tangent.
Said it before, I'll say it again: Romo's got all the potential in the world, and he's shown quite a bit of it (his past 3 yrs as a starter have been awesome). It really is amazing to see just how much people expect of him, even Dallas fans (or maybe I should say "especially Dallas fans"). I can't think of another QB that's had such a great statistical start to their career. Considering how long it took Manning and a lot of other star QBs to get their first playoff win, I think it's crazy that anyone's even suggesting that Romo get yanked or traded if there isn't a deep playoff run this next season. Need a little perspective there.
(And this is from a Steelers fan)

GM GCN............I think most of the Cowboys fans expect more than sometimes they can deliver. Romo may never be the 2nd coming of Aikman or Staubach, but he's a lot better than anything we've had since, and people don't seem to grasp that concept. He's winning games for us, and that beats the heck out of 3 consecutive 5-11 seasons. Danny White got us to the NFC championship 3 straight times, but that wasn't good enough, because he followed Staubach, much like Romo is somewhat following Aikman.
I think we'll be a much improved team this year, if they take care of business. Even without Owens, we'll be better, IF injuries don't hit us like last year. People aren't expecting much from the 'Boys, so that's a bit less pressure. I never liked the idea of what these so called "experts" did anyway, predicting us to go all the way as they've been doing. I'd rather sneak up on people................lol
Now, if Jerry Jones will stay away from these Burress and Stallworth kinds of people. He needs to see Rooney and get some hints on how to be an owner......:-)..or be a better owner, should I say.
QUOTE(#9):

AND a privilege. Some better character players never make it, but people like Marshall, Burress, and Stallworth don't seem to appreciate what they have, or have been given.

This is for the true football fan, not the ???Tony Romo is the best fan???. Remember he called off the bench and replacing Drew Bledsoe. If Drew Bledsoe didn???t get injured then nobody would even have known of this second rate QB.While he does okay in some games, he chokes in the ???big games???. Name 1 BIG GAME that he has pulled off. Not one. Remember back in 2006, Monday Night Football the opening scene was a shot of Romo standing tall. He stated, ???I???ve been waiting all week for this???. That was the night the Dallas Cowboys got so embarrassed on national television by the New Orleans Saints. That lose to the Saints gave him nickname "BUTTERFINGERS". During that week the media went Cowboy/Romo crazy.Last season they made it to playoffs, instead of putting his head down to the X???s and O???s he went to Mexico to blow off a little steam with his hottie. Well, his trip to Mexico cost the Cowboys the game. There are so many instants that he mismanaged big games that is he really worth having as the leader of the offense. The Cowboys should trade him for future draft choices and pick up QB from somebody else until next year. As I see it he might be with the team another 2 or 3 years than he will he gone if he doesn???t produce Superbowl game. But there are those Tony Romo fans out there thinking that he can walk on water just those Reggie Bush fans thinking the same. IT???S TIME FOR A FRESH START!
Romo is not the problem, idiots like you are.
Bill Parcells built the SB team Belichick inherited.
Parcells built a very good Dallas team, and would still be there had it not been for Mr. Jones and his meddling ways (Owens).
Parcells had a big hand in turning the Dolphins team around and is not done yet.
There is a reason Parcells kept Romo around. Bill has always been a good at evaluating talent.
Now that the cancer is gone (Owens)...You will be eating those words sooner than later!

Hey Philly!
Welcome again to my world...............lol
I've found out a few things about these so called "fans" like this guy. They let their alligator mouth overload their hummingbird a.s.s., with no substance to back up their claims. Most times, they get confused by facts, and never return.
BTW, guys...........Happy Father's Day to all of you, regardless of whether you're a father or not. Wife got me a new 20" HP2009m flat screen monitor! Talk about a surprise this morning!...lol..

Welcome to FN, Idobk.
We're taking over this Saints fan's thing here........several different teams as you can see. I doubt he'll be back anyway.

Howzit going, Bull_Shirt? Seems like you're doing okay. What is it these Saints fans have against the 'Boys? Feels like I've seen at least a couple of these guys on the blogs (or has it been all this guy?). It's kind of funny how some fans just have it in for certain players/teams outside of any established rivalry.
Lately I've been arguing quite a bit with this guy Confucius who is a die-hard Chargers fan. At first I was kind of confused, couldn't understand why he had it in for Pittsburgh and Ben. Then I realized he's suffering from a little man syndrome of sorts. His hard feelings come from having the one QB (Rivers) in the "Big Three" QB class of 2004 (Eli, Rivers, Ben) that hasn't won an SB title yet, all he's been able to do is watch Pittsburgh and NY celebrate recent titles and feel good about picking Ben and Eli, so he's feeling like a red-headed stepchild and can't stand it.
All kinds on these blogs, I guess. Keeps them interesting.

Well, being that the Saints are in "close proximity" with the Cowboys and Texans, I would think, esp. with the 'Boys, that the fan base of the 'Boys is wider than the Saints, going off into Louisiana as well. Not to be bragging or anything, but the Cowboys have fans all over the country. When they go do the practice thing in California, for instance, there's lots of fans gather there just for watching practice. So, I'd assume Louisiana has Cowboy fans as well.
The Texans haven't been established long enough to draw any fans from the other two, other than in the Houston and surrounding areas.
That's my hypothesis anyway. The Saints also have a long history of losing, while the Cowboys........well, we're tied for 2nd on the SB win list............:-), behind only the Steelers.
These haters are a different breed altogether. They usually have their mind made up and don't like being confused with facts. So, what I do is if I can't blind them with brilliance, then I baffle them with BS....lol........I've been over to Lumbers new thing he's doing and messing with him...he hasn't changed......just mouthing off to anyone who will listen, and not many at that..........lol.......he can be entertaining, much like the jesters and fools in the old days with kings and such as that. But, you can't take the man seriously at anything.
I've been "arguing" with a Bears fan lately, too........lol..........trying to keep him from blowing a gasket. I haven't seen ATA lately tho......wonder what happened with him?
The Chargers have been sooo close to going all the way, but just don't have enough to get past Indy or NE............yet. It can be frustrating to fans, if you let it be. Same with these Cowboys. So close, yet so far away.............
Wow. All Tony's fault huh?
Do you even watch the games? Ok, let's assume you do. Romo throws, Owen,Witten,Crayton catch it. Barber,Jones and Choice run it. The Oline blocks, the Defense tackles.
There, all caught up! Oh wait, where in here did I forget to mention Tony Romo wins the game alone? Nowhere. If all the above happens the way it is supposed to, Dallas wins more than they lose. While you seem to have a hard one for Romo, there are a few QB's probably better than Romo. Their names are Brady,Manning(Peyton) and maybe 2 or 3 more depending on how you rate them. When your QB is ranked number 4 in the NFC and number 8 in the NFL, there really is not a ton to complain about. Romo put up decent numbers for a guy that missed multiple starts. Yeah, I'm convinced. You don't watch football. At least not American football. Just a hint: The game we play here, is not round with black dots on it.
Watch more football. When your QB is ranked 4th in the NFC and 8th in the NFL, you should count your blessings. Ask the Bears(before Cutler) or the Lions or the 49ers or....

Good points. And welcome Papadash.
This author is a Saints fan, tho, and misguided. Likely won't be back either to read any of this, or if he has, he won't comment. A drive by poster.
