NFL  > Tampa Bay Buccaneers  > Brooks might be back what do you think
June 20, 2009, 02:39 PM
Quote: "The NFL Defensive Player of the Year when Tampa Bay won the Super Bowl after the 2002 season, Brooks was among five players the Bucs cut in a February purge that included his former Florida State teammate, Warrick Dunn.

"I could still be a Buccaneer," Brooks said. "Stranger things that have happened. "

And it was also said that this is wishful thinking of Brooks, the only chance Brooks has of getting back with the Bucs is if we have a injury on the D line and he's still available, but thats even a long shot.

Everyone wants Brooks back including me, but chances are if we get him back it'll be mid season or not at all if he's found a new home by then.

DERRICK BROOKS GOT A RAW DEAL! YOU DO NOT JUST THROW AWAY A PLAYER AS VALUABLE AS BROOKS. YES I UNDERSTAND THAT HE IS 36,BUT THERE IS ALOT TO BE SAID ABOUT LOYLTY. HE PREPAIRED AND PRACTICED FOR GAMES AS IF HIS LIFE DEPENDED ON IT AND THAT IS NOT TO MENTION ALL THAT HE DID FOR TAMPA COMMUNITY. I CERTENALLY DO HOPE THAT BROOKS DOES RETURN TO THE BUCCS.

I agree, i loved Brooks on this team, i just gotta be realistic about it, with all of the comments coming from the media and a few sources associated with the Bucs, chances are weve lost our guy on D. No loyalty is adsactly the issue here, because the ability is still in the guy and he showed last yr being number 2 in tackling last season.

Wishful thinking on my part is hoping we get that back, it is a vital lost that we can't afford on the D, I think thats the main reason we look as bad as we do now, NO BROOKS LEADERSHIP.

Hey, guys.......it could be worse ya know.....you could be fans of the Broncos............:-)

That team is in complete disarray, and at least the Bucs seem to be going forward. So, take hope in that. Remember the man who griped because he had no shoes, til he met another man who had no feet. Your team at least has shoes.

Awww man.......I haven't convinced you to be a Cowboy fan yet? At least 2nd fave?...*laffin*

I know what you mean.......I like the Broncos too, but McDaniels is an idiot, and Cutler didn't help his cause either, doing as he did. We'll see how far they sink come Sept.

Lol, been a slight fan of the BOY's for yrs, from the Emmit Smith days, when they use to go head to head with the 49ers. My uncle loves the 49ers and that alone made me a Boy's fan lol, screwed up reason but it's my reason none the less.

I like the Cowboys, i just don't keep up with many of the teams i like.

That's why I like these blog things......skip around, chat to other fans and see what's going on. The Bears thing has been quite lively this past week. But, you've been there a couple of times...............most of the 'Boys's blogs are dead in the water. So, I'm hopping, skipping and jumping from one team to another. The Browns site is the only one where I feel I'm not welcome, even tho I haven't done or said anything derogatory about their team.

This "Chokeland Clowns" (amongst other aliases) has those fans gun shy and he was a real turd.

I agree Bull Shirt although I'm a Bears fan I enjoy watching the NFL and chatting with all fans who enjoy the game as I do.

They need to bring him back for one more season since thats all he wants to play and then make hima LB coach next year. Derrick is too valuable to the team (even if he isn't playing every down) to just be tossed aside.
