NFL  > New Orleans Saints  > Robert Meachem, should he still be a Saint.....
June 22, 2009, 06:35 PM
When the Saints drafted Meachem I thought that he compliment the offense. His college numbers were great (just like Bush). When he hit New Orleans the first thing that he said that it was hot. It wasn???t even in the middle of the summer yet. I remember that comment. His training camp was so bad that he sat out the entire season. There was no injury. I wished that I could sit around and get paid. His second season was what 300 yards. This is a joke. What was his contract amount? His productivity is a joke (just like Bush).
Do the Saints NEED him? Not is he a valuable player but do they really NEED this guy.
By letting him go it would release some cash for the salary cap so that they can sign other players that are more useful.

lets give him one more year my man. dont jump boat just yet the last vol we drafted took 3 ears to produce, and i still miss daunte. check out cscs article on maek it or break it, dave wrote a good peice and most saints fans expect a break out season, but good point he needs to live up to his ability.

Let's trade Bush, Meachem & Shockey and get rid of all of the underperforming premadonnas.

The thing about it is, what is this year is so different from last year? What is it that is so different this year?

I agree with trading Bush and Meachem. But Shockley I have some reservations about.
Think about this. When he was in New York he just wanted out. If didn???t matter who are where as long as he was out of New York. It sort of reminds of Kerry Collins. When he wanted out of South Carolina. He came to the Saints. That year he was with the Saints this performance was pretty bad. He just wanted out of South Carolina. Funny thing happened after, he went to New York and with a snap of his fingers his production level went up. So Kerry Collins really didn???t want to be in New Orleans. I am not sure about Shockley but I am starting to question the guy.

It all goes back to free agentcy. That ruin the game. Now all you have are a bunch of thugs and punks on enhancing drugs.
Think about this, go back 10 years and make a list of all off the field incidents. Then go back 20 years and subtract the first 10 years from it. There are more and more incidents. It???s just getting worse.

Why get rid of bush. Hes a play maker. Just because hes not an awsome HB yal think he sucks. hes an awsome recieving back and punt returner.

Anyways about Meachem, how do you expect him to shine with Colston and Moore in front of him. It has to be hard. I agree with Who Dat! that we should probly trade shockey or let him be 2nd string after Billy Miller.
