NFL  > Chicago Bears  > Marshall To Bears......?
June 23, 2009, 01:44 PM
Cutler is obviously trying to make it happen, but how could the Bears possibly make the deal work?

If you were Jerry Angelo...what would you try to do??

Would you even try to make the deal?

Zachary Bowman, Hunter Hillenmeyer, Rashied Davis, Dusty Dvorcheck, next years 3rd rounder and a conditional 2011 pick for Marshall and next years 5th rounder

The bears already got their one good player for the next 5 years. They can't get another one before then or they might go somewhere in the playoffs.

I think the Bears tried to trade these guys at the local dump and Angelo didn't like a $4 offer

Zachary Bowman and Dusty have huge upside and potentional if they can stay healthy, Rashied Davis played very good when playing in the slot, and just because he dropped the balls doesn't mean he can't revert to form (lets not forget Braylon Edwards led the league in dropped passes last year and he still has considerable value), and Hunter Hillenmeyer is a good enough linebacker to start on most NFL teams, his coverage skills are not exceptionaly talented but he is a great strong side linebacker and could probably perform well at ILB for a 3-4 team. The Broncos still need help on defence and that would give them three defensive players, a starter in Hillenmeyer, a corner across from Bailey, unles they wanted Bowman to play nickel, another DT for the rotation, and a decent slot receiver, plus two draft picks, I actually think that trade would be considerable value for both teams.

I meant to say a solid strong side linebacker, not great.

I would be happy to see the trade happen. Send some defensive players, Lord knows Lovie can build new stars on D.

If they made the deal, I would love it. We would have a brand new offense.

In fact, the Bears can add the word 'offense' to their dictionary now.

$100 says the Bears start with what they already have.

Pennies, sure, Aluminum cans? Not so much, while worth money, it needs to be turned into cash for me to accept. Seeing as you like this bet, who do you believe they will acquire?

I learned a long long time ago to never bet on any NFL team, especially my Cowboys..............*grins*.......

I'm of the mind they will go with what they have, at least for now, and see who gets released when teams start cutting people. There will be some veterans cut somewhere, I'm sure. I know Burress won't do much good if any, if for no other reason than he is teamless and likely is out of shape, and then he'd have to learn a whole new system if he were to be signed.

This is dependent upon if they can afford a certain someone as well. I don't know what their financial situation is, and I seldom pay much attention to that, even with the 'Boys.

The pieces are in place, the bears do not need Marshall. Give the receivers the bears have a chance. With Rex and Kyle, everyone was saying it was the quarterbacks. Now we will see. As far as going some where in the playoffs, I`ll bet a dime to a donut that the bears will do better than the packers.

the bears need marshall. Him and culter will be good for 5 years, SAy to themsevles,." I HATE CHICAGO!!!!' then want to be traded

I think they will too, unless the injury bug hits key players for any length of time.
