NBA  > Cleveland Cavaliers  > Old Man O'neal is heading to the Cavs!

Okay, what the crap do you make of this? Good decision or not?

I'm thinking this would have been great a year or two ago, when Shaq was only 68 years old. Hopefully he's still got some gas in the tank because I'd love to see a final next year with LeBron and Shaq vs. Kobe and the Lakers.

Yeah; I totally agree with you!

Your words move mountains, Sir, and I think you are the most intelligent editorial writer of our time.

I love you 'skins in 2037.

What in the name of our vengeful Lord Vishnu is going on here?

I spent hours preparing this thread, and nothing!

Post some comments now or I will flood the boards with threads regarding Miley Cyrus' love life.

My comment is as fallows; as a Celtics fan - possibly delusional at times, yet I still think they were the best team this previous year up until KG and Powe's respective injuries... I am scared of being dominated, but hopefully the Shaq that shows up will be too old and slow to really do much harm.

Will the Cavs change to a complete set-up type offense to accommodate him? Lebron likes to run and gun a lot. Shaq will still be effective in the run and gun about 60% of the time, but that just means he is getting tired and underutilized.

Nevertheless, this is a big move for the Cavs and it will probably turn out to get big for them. Having Lebron everywhere, Williams at the 3 point line and Shaq underneath makes them a great threat on offense, and Shaq still holds his own on defense. Plus he has the star factor, which allows him to push people around a bit more than say Perkins.

On a side note, if the Cavs do win - can we start saying Shaq cant win titles without another superstar on his team?

June 25, 2009  09:29 PM ET

I wish Shaq would have gone to the Celtics.
But alas, Cavs got him.
he is NOT old. he still can make a difference.
With LBJ, Shaq can dominate inside and kick outside to the 3 point shooters, or to LBJ.
I think he is a great addition to their team.
Don't forget. Shaq might not be as dominant as before, but most people who would give him single coverage only would still pay for that. So if you double Shaq, you will have problems keeping up with LBJ or the 3 point shooters in the team..

I'm pretty sure Shaquille O'neal is in his early 70's

June 26, 2009  10:18 AM ET

Love this trade (as a diehard Cavs fan) creates future match-up nightmares for opposing teams because teams are going have to decide to a double Shaq or LeBron? Shaq may be 37, but he played in 75 games last year where he still was one of the league's top centers and since he missed the playoffs he's gain some extra rest and motivation for that one last title run because I think he'll retire after this year. He also hates the self-proclaimed, wannabe "Superman" Dwight Howard and their coach which Cavs fans are going to love. Love this trade, can't see what else the Cavs do considering they got 20 million dollars to play with it and sign another big name, or a couple quality free agents making the Cavs team to beat in the East edging out the aging Celtics and fluke Magic (who just got worse by injecting their team with the losing poison known as Vince Carter).

June 26, 2009  10:36 AM ET

I think this is a good move by the cavs. It makes them the favorites to win the championship next year in my mind. they will have a tough time getting past the celtics and lakers again but i think that they have a better shot at the title this year.

June 26, 2009  01:14 PM ET

Shaq really u guys have just jepordized the strenth of u entire team other than Lebron. Clevland was a deffensive team and now the got a player that cant even get back on deffense let alone play pick and roll deffense. Shaq can hate D-12 all he wants its funny how Shaq hates all superstars i never heard of shaq hatting on meodicore players. Clevland couldnt even check Reshard Lewis how they gonna deal with J. nelson/ Vince Carter (Allstars). Lets not 4 get who the real Allstar pg was for the east and who was a third alternate. Shaq may have been Superman but even Jordan had to give it up 1 day to make room 4 the next generation. Shaq is gonna destroy ur team like he did Miami and Pheonix atleast Miami did get a ring

How could u talk about Vince being a cancer and not Shaq u must be living in the past. The last couple of years Shaq has been sending teams into rebuilding and Vince Carter has been playing all star caliber basketball

That is preposterous.

Some hot model girl was on my computer while I was in Prague on a business venture. She must have just wanted to let me know that she agreed with me.

Kobe vs Shaq in the NBA Finals to break a 4-4 bling tie sounds good to me...

Forget about LeStatboy! He's WINLESS in Finals and got no bling!

I never knew inflatables can use computers! If so, keep them deflated when you leave your crib!

Favorite? Dream on!

LeStatboy choked away his biggest chance last season with KG out and HOME court throughout the post season where they were almost perfect...

... and he'll choke again even with Shaq!

...he probably didn't realized that his previous posts will change too the moment he changes his name...

Oh my God, I wrote those while I was still 'skins in 2037. I changed my name up YESTERDAY.

I wrote that stuff to bump the thread because nobody was responding.

Also, ****, I didn't spend hours on this, that was a joke.

But now you've graced this thread with 5 thousand moronic comments so that's a relief.

Stop following me around because you are obviously still in middle school, otherwise you would understand all of this.
