NFL  > Kansas City Chiefs  > Tyler Thigpen
June 29, 2009, 12:50 AM
Watching the KC vs. Miami game on NFL network tonight, and thinking that Tyler Thigpen might be a good Wildcat QB... He sure has shown he has the legs to run the ball, and He throws the under routes pretty well. I'd like to see 4-6 plays per game for him, to see what he could do.

If anyone has Coach Haley's phone# give him a call and let him know for me.

I truly loved the way Thigpen played in 2008. If he would have had an O line that was anything but BAD or a Defense to back his 1/2 time leads with, he would have won at least 1/2 of the games if not more.

But it is painfully obvious that cassell is the QB this season, and thiggy is 3rd string behind BRITTLE BRODY! the proof was in the pudding during the NFL draft telecast, Cassell and Brody were listed on the Chiefs depth chart but NOT Tyler.

SAD!

54 % completions for Thigpen last year. The top QB's in the NFL complete 67% of their passes.

Thigpen has an accuracy problem. Although he did throw 18 TD's with 12 INT's last year which isn't horrible.

Favre the hero completed 65% of his passes but threw 22 TD's with 22 INT's and people think he's GOD. LOL

I'd rather have Thigpen than Favre. Interceptions kill your team.

i know when the vikes drafted him and during the preseason he did a lot of stuff right butt instead they kept that idiot Bollinger and tried to put Tyler on the PS and i am a big supporter of Tjack but when i saw Tyler play in the preseason i knew he could step up and be the future and then he backed it up with the way he played last year

I can't believe Childress kept Bollinger instead of Thigpen. That just shows you once again what an idiot Childress is when it comes to quarterbacks.

He has one of the worst eyes for quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. No wonder he wants a 40 yr old washed up Brett Favre. LMAO

I often think Thigpen will become a good QB. I don't think people didn't give him enough credit. He made some decent plays on a bad team. They had Dwayne Bowe which helped him out. Then he had very little in the running game. And no other WR to throw to. And I know there was Tony Gonzalez but he did the best he could. Much better then QB's Damon Huard and QB Brodie Croyle. I'm saying if he goes to a different team and plays good. I think he can really make it in the NFL.

I won my fantasy football division last year with Thigpen. I like the guy. He got me solid numbers. Not fantastic, but pretty damned good. Better than Flavre when I replaced him.

Umm hes better then BRODIE IF ANYONE HAS PIOLLI OR HALEY's NUMBER ASK them WHY is BRODIE STILL ON THE ROSTER?! Are you serious.. J.O.K.E don't be a another Herm or Carl whoever kept him around.. Heck We should still have DAMON HUARD ON THIS ROSTER... AND I'm not kidding you.. I would let HUARD CASSELL and THIGPEN

Thigpen is not that great of a QB. We here in KC are just blind when it comes to quarterbacks since short of Trent Green we haven't had a decent starting QB in a long time. You could count Rich Gannon, but as usual we made the bad decision and picked Elvis Grbac. You could count Joe Montana, but we weren't able to get him until his brittle old days.

Thigpen is not the future. Cassel may or may not be, but he is better than Thigpen. Anyone who says Cassel had a "terrible" preseason game last week is only looking at the stat line. Sure he was 2 of 5 for 15 yards, but 2 passes were dropped that should have been caught that would have given us 1st downs. One pass was high so I fault him on that, and the fumble was terrible, he should've had better ball control. I suggest everyone go back and rewatch Cassel in the preseason game and you will see he wasn't as bad as you may have thought. He had good speed and accuracy and looked pretty good in the pocket.

But if you give me the choice between Cassel and Thigpen, I'll take Cassel everytime.

I have 2 things: (1) with Cassel playing horribly, this proves that he was just a product of Josh McDaniel's QB friendly system and great WR play and he is worth nothing more than being a back up QB. (2) My first point REALLY tells you how bad Kyle Orten is!!! He is playing like a blind high schooler.

Thigpen is a pretty good QB i dont think as good as Cassel but better than Croyle
