NBA  > Houston Rockets  > Yao Ming may lose his foot!
June 30, 2009, 10:12 AM
Sources say that Yao's foot is having an adverse reaction to a tissue regeneration medication. The serum caused irreparable tissue and cartilage damage and a massive drop in bone density in the targeted area.

Yao's been taken off the medication but infection has developed and there is an estimated 38% chance that they will have to amputate. He is already expected to miss all of next season, but it may be far worse now.

He will now have to completely stay off his foot for 2 months and undergo an experimental procedure called a "Peditriactis", a series of shots of tissue growth injections, antibiotics and bloodletting.

After the Peditriactis, Yao's medical team will discuss and later announce whether amputation is necessary.
