NBA  > Minnesota Timberwolves  > Rubio Might Not Play in 09-10 Season? That's Ridiculous.

Not really. If Rubio improves while over in Spain and Johnny Flynn, who the TWolves drafted after Rubio, plays in the NBA and becomes a star or is a decent player the TWolves could trade Flynn and get decent players back. Plus, they still have Rubio. This would make them a team that might even make the playoffs. This could be one of the strategies but it's a patient one. Or they could just play him the 09-10 season and trade Johnny Flynn and your 6th pick of the draft was useless. Maybe sending Rubio to Spain isn't such a bad idea at all. If Flynn isn't a decent player or star, just keep him as a 3rd string or 2nd string.

There's no question in my mind that Jonny Flynn is going to be a star in the NBA and will be the Timberwolves' point guard for a long time. Rubio doesn't want to play in a small market city, and will come to the US only to play for the Knicks.

Ouch longstrangetrip, you were a little off. I remember Wilbon on PTI saying that Rubio was a joke that would never work out in the NBA after he was drafted. I'm Captain Hindsight on this board.
