NBA  > Minnesota Timberwolves  > Rubio Might Not Play in 09-10 Season? That's Ridiculous.
July 1, 2009, 11:11 AM
Not really. If Rubio improves while over in Spain and Johnny Flynn, who the TWolves drafted after Rubio, plays in the NBA and becomes a star or is a decent player the TWolves could trade Flynn and get decent players back. Plus, they still have Rubio. This would make them a team that might even make the playoffs. This could be one of the strategies but it's a patient one. Or they could just play him the 09-10 season and trade Johnny Flynn and your 6th pick of the draft was useless. Maybe sending Rubio to Spain isn't such a bad idea at all. If Flynn isn't a decent player or star, just keep him as a 3rd string or 2nd string.
