NBA  > General NBA  > Cleveland is Interested in Trevor Ariza.

Ariza doesn't wanna sign with the Lakers and sources say the Cavs are targeting Trevor Ariza. Cavs GM has difficult decisions. There have also been rumors about Cavs getting Rasheed Wallace and Antonio McDyess. If the Cavaliers were to get both they'll need to get Sheed and Ariza because of cap space. There are other teams interested in Ariza not just the Cavs. I'm not sure about other teams. I do not criticize the Cavs getting Ariza which actually be an upgrade at the SF and SG. Just letting Cavaliers fans that Cleveland is seriously interested in Trevor Ariza who helped LA win a ring. Now if Trevor leaves LA they are NOT repeating with out him. And again Cleveland is seriously interested in Trevor Ariza.

The Cavs cannot offer Ariza the amount of money he wants, that he is demanding from the Lakers (7-8 million). They can only offer the mid-level exception similar to the Lakers. But the team that can give him the biggest money are the Portland TrailBlazers. But if Ariza is still hungry for a Championship, then i'm sure he is either signing with the Cavaliers or re-signing with the Lakers.

trevor isnt just another guy. he is better than sasha and can shoot the three well. he should accept the money hes been offered so he can get another champiionshiip. If the lakers dont sign him, they will not win

Artest>Ariza Lakers look like the favorites again next year.

shaq is 37 years old averages 16.7 points a game and 8 rebounds. Rasheed is 35 years old averages 12 points a game and 7 rebounds. Shaq has a 61% FG rating and rasheed has a 42% FG rating. Shaq is a dominant force in the paint and Rasheed is usually way out near the perimeter. Best on this info cleveland got the better player.

I don't see the Cavs getting both Wallace And McDyess the two plus Ariza. Not happening. They don't have the kind of cap space to pull off such a bold move. They will be lucky if they can get Rasheed Wallace or Antonio McDyess by themselves, but not both. My Money would be on Wallace because he's a post up player and perimeter floater who has a knack for hitting big time three's when his team needs them. Would Wallace make the cavs Title material? hard to say. Nobody really knows whether his contribution a a role player would make any difference whatsoever. But would it be an improvement to their roster in terms of depth and experience? yes. In the short term anyways, Wallace would be worth at least the mid level exception. At his age he doesn't have a lot of good years left in him.

Is he reallt an upgrade over west? think about it

West is a better scorer than Ariza, better passer than Ariza and a far superior 3% shooter than Ariza.
