I disagree it is something everyone will like.
Many people abhor violence, and blood, so this will not be for them.
I can see where it takes over all people who likes action sports, adventure films, etc.
It SHOULD become a pretty popular sport.
But I doubt, for instance,m it will ever pass up Soccer.
But if I stretch my imagination, I can see it become a sport you learn in school :)
"Think about this, all you d'bags who smash on MMA or say boxing is better, you were either the ones right there on the side lines in High School watching your friend whip someones ass and cheering (or crying if it was your friend), or you were trying to whip ass and or getting yours whipped and I garuntee it wasn't a school yard boxing match. Stiffin that upper lip and take it like a man, MMA is here to stay and it is taking over a lot of things in terms of popularity."
This mentality will continue to keep MMA out of the mainstream. If you want to convince someone to like something you like, don't start out by insulting them and making sweeping generalizations. If someone prefers boxing over MMA, it doesn't mean they were a wimp in high school, and it certainly doesn't make them dbags.
roni makes a good point. mma will always be a niche sport. there's no reason to try and make it any more than that other than for money. as long as there is passion for it, the sport will continue to expand and gain more exposure, but it will remain a niche sport, and there's no shame in that.
But I doubt MMA will remain a "niche" sport. It's growing by leaps and bounds and doesn't show any sign of slowing down. It may never reach Soccer, but no shame in that.

They deserve the insults, it's about time they get it back and I DON'tT care about campaigning for the sport it isn't my job. I am already sold on it and I think Dana is right!

How would you know what anybody did in high-school?
You obviously didn't attend. Your English is still at a third-grader's level.
Well, I have to say that Dana has done a lot to make MMA what it is. He's obviously a very smart and savvy businessman and loves MMA. We may not always agree with or understand some of the decisions he makes (like the EA Sports thing) but in the end he has his organization's best interests at heart.
Oh, and the world will NEVER embrace MMA like soccer or even baseball. Roni's point that MMA will be a niche sport is pretty accurate. People tend to embrace the sports and activities that they can also participate in without having to invest a lot of time in learning, $$$ in equipment, elaborate rules or conditions, or unusual ability to endure pain or risk of injury (such as MMA)
But that's OK... for those of us who understand MMA and can appreciate the sport for what it is are the true fans and just hope that it gets enough commercial popularity to keep going.

Thats an insane statement, Football doesn't take pain and discipline as well as rule knowledge? Basketball? Hockey? Soccer...so everyone is born to play!? Wish I had known that!

I think you jumped bigokie's case before you processed what he/she said.

Can you play flag-MMA? How about two-hand touch? All the other sports you listed can be played casually and for recreation by people that are only moderately interested in the actual sport. MMA cannot be.

Hahaha thats funny man and I like you. Flag football and two hand touch are for people who really can't play sports. If it does involve risk and being athletic you ain't in it for the sport. Therefore my statement stands. If you want to be GOOD at something it takes time, discipline, and a good general knowledge. Even in pick-up Bball at the school yard you have to know the general rules of the game which you don't just walk on and know. MMA on gets expensive when you test for belts. I bought my Ju-Jitzu gi for 60 bucks! Some shoes cost more then that, heck a lot of shoes do!
No, not insane... not sure why the overblown reaction to my OPINION. I'm making a bit of a generalization but I also stand by my statement. And I'm talking about playing a sport (such as football) at an organized level. I'm referring to people of other countries not necessarily having the money or even a basketball court (for instance) to play on. Any sport can be played or enjoyed at a pick-up level but sports dont tend to have a big following that way until it is being played at an organized level and that generates some interest.
Having lived in a country (Jamaica) I can say that I didn't see basketball courts, goalposts, martial arts centers, baseball diamonds, etc at any of the schools. Saw plenty of soccer fields though. Think most of the folks down there have a MERE $60 for a ju-jitsu gi??? Nah, they pretty much use that for food.
But as long as someone has a beat-up soccer ball and some open field to play in, you can play soccer. I'm not a soccer enthusiast by any means (I appreciate the skill and athleticism involved but find it to be slow) but it is sport at its simplist form.

Wrong he's not a Badass cause he pussied out when Atencio was calling him out into a Fight and 2nd yes part of his Motive is to promote UFC worlwide but he sucks on making MMA a respectable Sport through his Profanities and Disrespect towards competitors and now he's slowly building UFC into a Monopoly

His point (which I see merit in) is that casual observers won't pay attention to a sport (and become fans as a result) if they can't participate in it themselves, with flag football being an example for football. Being able to participate in their own version of the game (no matter how watered down) opens casual observers up to the real version.
