If you could only purchase (or watch for all the people who watch in sports bars) would you watch UFC 100 or Affliction:Trilogy?
July 2, 2009  12:10 PM ET

As a PRIDE and IFL fan, the choice is an easy one for me. Mousasi, Belfort, Babalu, Fedor, Barnett, and Taurosivisious on the same card with Rothwell and others, Affliction is the only way to go in my opinion.

July 2, 2009  12:13 PM ET

I accidently hit "cancel" and paniced and hit "post" five times. If nobody post on ther ones they should go away quickly.

July 2, 2009  12:33 PM ET

Wow, yeah great multiple posts. No freakin way. UFC is too main stream! Babalu Sobral sucks and I haven't the slightest why people still like him. Barnett isn't what he once was and the only reason to watch that card would be to see if by some miracle Barnett could win. If you are a true MMA fan you are going to watch both anyhow.

I agree, but I threw up the hypothetical situation where you could ony watch one to see which one people thought would be more interesting.

July 2, 2009  02:37 PM ET

I get them both for free so I will watch them both for free!

July 2, 2009  02:55 PM ET

If I had $44.95 in my pocket I would have $44.95 more than I do right now.

July 2, 2009  03:20 PM ET

I'd hopefully be in Costa Rica. Nothing else need be said.

July 2, 2009  03:20 PM ET

UFC 100

July 2, 2009  05:19 PM ET

UFC 100. It's what I started watching first and represents MMA for me (unless Pride was still around).

July 2, 2009  07:24 PM ET

Uhhhh UFC 100, obviously. The only fight I give a **** about on the Affliction card is Fedor/Barnett. There are a few other good fighters on the card, but the matchups are nothing compared to what UFC 100 has to offer. Don't get me wrong, I'll definitely watch the Affliction card as well...but it's a no-brainer if I were somehow forced to choose between the two.

July 2, 2009  07:25 PM ET

I am going to watch both for free, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

July 2, 2009  07:30 PM ET

I follow UFC closer, so that would be my choice.
But I would be very upset if i could not watch Affliction too

July 3, 2009  05:02 AM ET

The single fight that I'm looking forward to the most is Mir-Lesnar so I guess that's the card I'd pick.

However, I completely agree with you that Affliction:Trilogy is stacked with some great fighters ----- Mousasi, Belfort, Fedor, etc... ---- so it's actually a very tough decision.

July 3, 2009  11:05 AM ET

What I don't understand is why on the same night? UFC100 has been announced for months and months. Why even compete? Egos...yeeesh.

Love Barnette, have for years, figure he's the only guy that's gonna give Fedor a run.

I'm gonna watch both, but If I had to choose 1, it would be UFC, if for no other reason then the water cooler talk on Monday. Unfortunately mainstream wins.

It's not on the same night...the guy is just presenting a hypothetical situation in which you could only choose one of the two events to watch.

July 3, 2009  01:04 PM ET

Fedor is the best MMA fighter standing right now...But unfortunately you need an interesting opponent for him to fight. I am more interested to see how Lesnar has improved from his last fight.

July 3, 2009  01:24 PM ET

Definitely, Kat. Until they start throwing Fedor with some competition and I realize that Fedor's last couple fights have been against ranked opponents. I don't put too much stock in what other people think about who's #1,2,3 etc., because that's their opinion, mine is different. The best HW talent is in the UFC, IMO.

July 3, 2009  07:11 PM ET

ufc 100

July 3, 2009  08:59 PM ET

since they don't show affliction in Iraq I guess UFC 100 it is Go Mir and Alves and Hendo

July 7, 2009  09:00 AM ET

On a slightly dif note, UFC is going to DESTROY Affliction with ratings....Look at the promotion alone. There is stuff on spike TV all week, UFC.com had the ufc 100 site up and ready the day after ufc 99..They are a buisness powerhouse.
