The Tribune Co. finalized an agreement to sell the Chicago Cubs to the Ricketts family over the weekend, the Tribune is reporting, citing a source close to the deal.

The contract will be sent to Major League Baseball for approval. The deal needs approval by other baseball team owners, as well as by a judge because the Tribune Co. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
